Amazon - Sent Inferior Model - Options?

I ordered an item off Amazon (through a reseller) and was sent the model below what was advertised. I questioned this and they claimed I ordered the lesser model, but when I pointed out model numbers etc, they said I could have a refund if I return it.

I dont really want a refund, I just want the model I ordered. It looks like they probably put the lower price on the better model which is why they're offering a refund. Do I have any chance? Anyone know the laws around this?

If they can't provide what you ordered, they can't supply it….and will refund you.

You can't demand what they don't have.

    Send it back.

    Get a refund.

    Buy the right one.

They've suggested to return for refund, and the order the 'right one' but as far as I am concerned, I have already ordered the right one (the amazon item page shows the exact item I want with the right model number etc), so I'd just be ordering the exact same item again.

Do whatever you want. Stamping your feet like a petulant child won't resolve this…….

  • negative reviews always gets sellers attention.
can adjust your review if they play ball. otherwise its a valid review that the item you got wasnt what was received.

as a worse case, just return it. amazon accepts returns pretty much with no questions asked.

  • Reading between the lines OP would need to pay more for the correct item? (can't check).

    If not what's the issue?

If it is pay more and it's Amazon US then only Amazon US can help (why won't they??) If it's .AU isn't this "bait and switch"?

    • Correct. Seller now acknowledges that the listing was showing the wrong item (so essentially it was priced wrong). They'll refund if I return it to them which is a PITA but not much choice I guess
