Beware - Using ShopBack with AliExpress Will Show Items with Higher Prices!

I searched for some items in Aliexpress without any cashback sites and found a few types with multiple sellers selling them for the same total price.

But when I went through Shopback and did the same exact search, I couldn't find them anymore at that same total price. They were all higher in total.

To prove I wasn't going crazy, I added the one with the price I wanted to my cart, logged out and went through shopback but couldn't find the item with the same price anymore through their search engine. I then clicked on my cart and bought the item with the price i wanted.

Therefore BEWARE when using shopback with Aliexpress, the prices seem to be >5% more expensive compared by just going directly to Aliexpress. Not sure about cashrewards, didnt test it.

Note: Shopback has rules which states "Empty cart before clicking through ShopBack" & "Add items to your cart after clicking through ShopBack". I think these rules are there to prevent a workaround for this issue.

Going through any AliExpress affiliate link (cashback websites) causes a cookie to remove or the change the prices of a lot of cheaper products.

How can you tell? The homepage will be directed to best.aliexpress.com (sometimes) and when you search for products the URL shows aliexpress.com/af instead of aliexpress.com/search (everytime).

The solution? Browse in incognito, make a note or add products to your wishlist before clicking through SB so they won't disappear.

Ah ok, so put them in wishlist instead of cart before going through affiliate. Gotcha, thanks.

That's right. Technically the AliExpress affiliate program doesn't let affiliates do promotions on ALL products so that's the likely reason why they like to exclude products from the searches after receiving the cookie.

What about the prices in the app?

          • @Ughhh: AliExpress encourage app use and for a long time offered incentives. Use of the app also makes tracking and gathering of data easier for them. Much like other store apps.
