Any Good Sales for Base Layers or Sweaters Currently?

As title? Preferably wool ones. Around $50 max for sweaters.

Was looking at uniqlo, whats the quality like? They have the extra warm heat tech :

And a "Stretch fleece" one : https://www.uniqlo.com/au/store/men-heattech-stretch-fleece-…

Not sure if layering both would be a good idea? Thoughts?

  • I wore a HT singlet bra, 1xHT long sleeve and a 1.5xHT long sleeve at the snow and they were enough to overheat me that I didn't need my jacket. For everyday wear, I switch between the 3 depending on the temp and they can keep me comfortably warm

The warmer/thicker the HT item though, the more pilly they are I find, especially the leggings

  • Where do you buy HT?

    • I assume HT = Heattech, so Uniqlo.

  • You just missed the Aldi ski sales by a couple of weeks. Their base layers are usually pretty good, and some varieties are merino. Maybe you local store may still have some.

  • Kathmandu outlet had a sale on + plus some last season items that were quite cheap.

  • I got the Heattech extra warm, its pretty thin but pretty warm as a base layer. For the price I paid ($20 each) it was pretty amazing, much better than buying some $50+ base layer from the typical local store.

  • decathalon has pretty good winter gear too and pretty affordable
