Just wondering what are the best months for catching freshwater crays, other than Murray Crayfish, whose season spans from 1st June and goes to 31st August.
I haven't tried catching Murray Crays but rather the South Gippsland Spiny Crayfish which are a lot more plentiful (and aggressive :/ ). There isn't a closed season for them but last year I had OK results in Oct-Nov. I tried going in February with poor results.
I use fresh chicken necks and hoop nets.
Any advice appreciated :)
