    So it's a bowl… with a lid…? For $27?

    Yeah, no.

Friends, no comment on the products but I find it funny the adverise it as "platinum silicon". It doesn't actually mean it's any different from normal silicon, as platinum is just used as a catalyst. Don't confuse it with the PtSi (platinum silicide) which is used as a semiconductor and an IR detector.

ive got one. its ok…bit too small unless your a kid & doesnt pop the kernels consistently…
would use it a lot more if it wasnt for those aspects

      • +2

So it actually does not do what it supposed to do properly?

        • +1

…pretty much. wouldnt buy it again or recommend it unless they changed the design to overcome those issues

    Paper bag works well

    • Aluminium foil works even better.

Ok I'm obviously going to be flamed for this, but, I was gifted this popcorn maker about a year ago and it is absolutely fantastic. It takes 2 1/2 minutes in my microwave for hot popcorn filled to the brim, with no oil used. Granted, I've had no other experience with other popcorn makers… but I love this one. Very quick and easy.
And based on the price this particular Lekue popcorn maker retails for, this is a good price.

  • I find the when I make pop corn without oil salt does not stick and it is tasteless.

….microwave popcorn, then melt a little butter separately….drizzle it over the popcorn, then season and mix the popcorn around a little to distribute butter/seasoning evenly
