BenQ W1000+ 1080P Projector $1199 + $17.50 Postage (Melb) @ The Cable Connection

60

Hey all,

With the ongoing success of the Benq W6000 offer I have decided to do a deal on the much sought after Benq W1000+ too! (…with one of our awesome 10 metre platinum HDMI cables!!!)

As with the last deal I have managed to secure an unbelievable deal on some brand new, Australian delivered Benq W1000+ projectors. They come with Full Australian Warranty from Benq Australia (Not grey imports like some!!)

I am not going to bore you with the specs, but if you are like me and love the numbers then have a look at this link:

http://benq.com.au/products/product_detail.cfm?product=1708&…

Check out shopbot, getprice, myshopping.com.au and you will find this deal is cheaper than all of these and includes a 10 metre HDMI just to make it an unbeatable deal! This is a massive saving of $700 off the original RRP's (not that it really matters as no-one pays RRP) and betters most prices online by more than $100 (and up to $400 in a lot of cases)!

Pickup is of course free … and postage to capital cities is from $17.43. Postage can be calculated by using the shipping calculator on the listing.

If you have any questions regarding this product, or any that I sell please feel free to contact me on (03) 9763 1000, by email at [email protected] or in store at 1 International Crt, Scoresby.

$10 for a premium 10 metre v1.4 HDMI cable with metal ends and braiding?? - Really?

      • true,

10 meter "premium" hdmi cables start at about 36 bux
        (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Premium-10m-Metre-HDMI-Cable-1080…)

so all in all probably around 10% cheaper than everyone else… not to bad.

think ill hold out for the w6000 or similar, (they do seem to be a bit better, your last post convinced me)

          Delivery cost: $13.90
          total about 1245
          your total about 1220

          about 25-40 bux in it…
sorry closer to <5% in it…

lol no need to neg me matt, blame the math - not the man!

  • Just a few months too early for me!
Currently in the process of buying/selling houses and decided that my current projector setup will stay in the old place. Once the old place is sold I'll have money again (only 1 mortgage to pay!).
January 2012 I will be in the market (hopefully before then)

    • cool story bro

    • Congratulation for having a crib!

These projector deals are very tempting.. That's really my point!

  • +2

Man, I can see it now….
as soon as someone says something relating to how the bargain affects them their gonna get a "Cool story bro"

its gonna be the ozbargain way!

    ^—— cool story bro!
(too late i already got myself :P)

    • that was a life story bro! like a job interview what do you see yourself doing in the next 12 months

  • a hdmi cable is a hdmi cable… isn't it? premium cable, non premium, whats the differences? The signal is digital so errors will be retransmitted, so why do you need a premium cable? Do they have better conductivity or something? And if they have better conductivity why do you need that in a hdmi cable?

    • Thats a tough one to answer … Thicker copper, better connectors, external braiding, better shielding - they all cost more. Do they make the signal better? Thats for the owner to determine.

      Here is a good read:

      http://hifi-writer.com/wpblog/?p=3202

    • There are 2 standards for HDMI 1.3. 1.3a is max 1080i and 1.3b is max 1080p.

Apart from that it's a digital signal so it shouldn't matter (in theory).

      • did a bit of reading, cheap generic cables get more error corruption along the line that transpose into blocking scratchy picture… typically it only occurs when the cable is around 15 meters in length. if you have a look at the results on a crow you can see the data corruption occuring.
        http://gizmodo.com/268788/the-truth-about-monster-cable-part…

same as having a bad antenna for digital signal…

you know what amazes me.. we can easily get 4-5 HD 1080i channels down a coaxial line picked up with an antenna, but it takes hdmi with many more wires to get 1080 down to the TV…
        guess thats compressed though

  • thanks… from my digging, there are 2 categories: 1) standard and 2) high speed. High speed needed for 1080p and 3d etc. So long as you stick to high speed, brand, fancy stickers and packaging will not make the image on your tv clearer.

You can use gold plated hose to water the garden, but cheap rubber one will also do the job. If any experts dispute this, please enlighten me with facts, figures, and proof. No marketing hype please.

    • see my post above… will find some links for you… the gold plated analogy does not hold in this case as gold is a better conductor…

  • Thanks, I read the article. It does not mention the category type of the cable being tested. If it is established that the category type of the cheap cables was "high speed" and so was the expensive one. Then the conclusion is correct. However, without the cable categorization the test was not comparing apples to apples.

    Hi guys,

I know that HDMI cable is a firey topic but the special here is NOT the HDMI cable but the package together.

Make the HDMI value whatever you like … make it $1.00 - the projector is still a bargain either way.

I think the point / bargain has got lost a little in this discussion.

Nearly every person who bought the Benq W6000 also bought a 10M HDMI and there was a few requests for a package deal in that bargain.

Perhaps I should do this cheaper with no HDMI cable??? (he says trying to please all of the people all of the time!!) ;)

  • yulp and first link returned was:

"The fact is, HDMI is digital, meaning you either get the feed or you don't. High prices and gimmicks like gold-plating don't affect 1s and 0s."

Agreed, not all cables are the same. But I don't care, I just want to know if they make the image clearer. Which from everything I have read including your links, they do not. You can sell me a gold hdmi cable and a copper one, gold better conductivity etc, but the resulting image on my tv is the same from both cables. Conclusion, no difference. Get cheapest high speed hdmi cable.

    • but thats the point they do affect 1s and 0s specially for cables these lengths (10m+)… short cables dont matter…

      Hey Matt, good point!

  • ooo another projector a "thumbs up" for including a hdmi cable.
Should expect my order soon :)

  • i have a W1000. great value for money projector.

it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (limited angle/keystone adjustments, etc), or the absolute best quality picture (limited number of colour wheels or something like that, apparently…). but for $1200, it puts out a very decent full HD picture, with decent brightness/contrast.

i paid $1700 for mine about a year ago (which was a pretty good price at the time). i don't actually use it that much anymore, because i bought a house which doesn't accomodate a projector very well, so i usually just watch on my Panasonic 54V20 plasma (an awesome value for money tv itself!). but i would recommend it for anyone who wants a decent quality HD projector without having to spend too much money.

  • Whats the cvhance of this arriving in sydney before the long weekend?
