I was in a hurry to get a new phone after my S7 Edge died on me a few days ago. Thought about spending +$900 for S10 but I think A70 is a good balance between performance and price.
Posting in case anyone else is looking for a decent deal on this phone.

In all seriousness, it's only 2.4mm taller than the Galaxy Note 9 and 0.3mm wider. Very marginally slimmer too.
Big phone no doubt but not a behemoth like the Huawei Mate 20X.
It's a 2015 5.5" phone but longer. That's it.

The naming convention for Samsung midrangers is incomprehensible. I like to buy the superceded model for better savings but I can't figure out what th older version of this is even called.

So I found that 2018's galaxy a is the galaxy a8. It costs as much as the new Galaxy a70 on eBay. I guess I will eventually be replacing my 2016 galaxy A6 with an a70. They look very good for the price!
Correct. There is as you know the cheaper J series, but your A6 is better matched with the A50 or A70, but much bigger screens on these.
Hopefully you will get Pie and Somsungs One Ui reasonably soon as that will keep your phone fresh and slick till next year +.
Bought one of these last weekend and has exceeded my expectations. A great mid-high prices phone. Not too much info on it being new and especially new to the Australian market. Not a bad camera, but not a great night camera. Feel free to ask questions if anyone needs info about it

It would have been better if we got Snapdragon instead of Exynos.
IIRC, the A70 comes with Snapdragon.
Correct me if Im mistaken but I believe Australian versions come with Exynos?

I actually cancelled my a70 order and went with s10e but still not sure whether i made the right decision.
Screen size and battery life of a70 is tempting.
