  • Hi guys, just waiting on delivery of our SIM/Stickers from the Starter Pack deal - there's 4 of us who'll be away for 30 days, so looking at 4 x 10gb/24day attached to my SIM and transferring data to the other three as needed.

Do I need to specify the actual start dates when purchasing or is that only to determine the pricing level?
Likewise, do the USA data plans expire, in case we don't end up using one of the four, can just save it for the next trip?

      Hi Kablammo,

You do need to specify the date, it should be enforced now on the Data Product Page (in the Calendar).

We'll expand it out to all other Plans as fast as we can, so we don't have the mess of 3 different Plan Types for each country.

Do you think it works better?

      Cheers,

      CallCloud

      • Thanks, so I will have to specify a fixed date mid-holiday that we want to start the second data plan, we can't just activate it when we run out of the first one?

All good re plans, unless the 10gb/15day is a huge amount cheaper we'll just go with 24day and cut it short if need be.

        • +1

That's probably the best way to go. You can cancel the plans prior to activation, (returning as Credit) into your account.

This means you can to a degree speculate, works if you haven't yet booked or your cancel your trip.

The 10GB pretty much come with 24 Day anyway (and are the best value) so that is the way to go!

          Cheers,

          CallCloud

  • Warning, prices are in USD

    • Correct. That's how we buy, and with so many plans, it makes life easier. The plus is we don't apply GST and offer Free postage, so it almost evens out.

  • Anything for Fiji?

    • Fiji is covered by our Oceania & Global Plan. We will get there with that Plan, we'll get there! Just stay posted!

The date selector on this page is unclickable on desktop https://callcloud.com.au/products/japan-data-plans?variant=1…

  • I am also having issue with the date selector in the USA early bird https://callcloud.com.au/products/usa-data-plans?variant=115… I have tried both Chrome and MS Edge browser on my desktop

  • Anything for Mexico? Valid 24 days or more.

  • Hi Guys,

The Calendar broke this morning, but I thought I had since fixed it. Just when I thought it was going to me smooth sailing!!

Hang in there, we'll have it back shortly…
    Regards,

    CallCloud

    • It seems as though it may have been a load issue. We've done some tweaking and everything seems OK for now. Unfortunately we won't be adding any extra plans for the time being.

      Thanks for reporting the issue.

      • I was trying to place the order today. It looks like the Calendar broke again. When it was fixed yesterday, the date had reverted to a text box but now it is back to a control that can't be click on.

        • Hi Johnno,

I suspected it was a load issue, removed it. Seemed OK last night…. arrrghhh..

Try clearing your cache, and then wait when it loads again.

Not ideal, but the best I can suggest until this app provider responds to support requests!

Alternatively, you can purchase starter kits using one of the other promos we have, and we can invoice you directly for the plan.

          Sorry about the inconvenience

          Regards,

          CallCloud

          • @Flexiroam: Thank you for actively looking at the issue.

I had already purchased the starter kit separately. :)

Clearing the cache didn't work, I have to also clear the callcloud and bookthatapp related cookies and it seems to be working now.

By the way, does the VOIP charge per minute or some other interval? i.e. is the minimal charges 10MB and goes in 10MB interval?

  • Does anybody have experience using this with Voip in Japan? And more specifically with the Brastel 050 number app?

    • Hi John,

I’ve used it with a corporate Unified Communications VoIP service in Japan and it worked well.

Although it is a ‘data only’ SIM, it does have limited outbound calling functionality.

See our blog blog post for more detail:

      https://callcloud.com.au/blogs/travel-hacks/flexiroam-x-voic…

      I hope this helps.

  • Hi Callcloud, I am a new customer and trying to purchase a travel sim to south korea.

I am after the 10GB for 24 days, what is the difference of $5 between Starter Kit Type: 'SIM Card' ($18.8) and 'Data Only' ($13.8)?

    Thanks

    • Hi guten,

If you are a new customer, you will need a starter kit. Either SIM Card, microchip or eSIM (if your phone supports it).

The data only option is for existing customers, or for customers wishing to purchase multiple SIMs but share a single data bundle.

We are midway through transitioning to a better web interface, so we appreciate your patience.

You can always just purchase a SIM, and then buy the data as required through our App, but time can be a factor with postage etc, if you are hoping to secure the advance purchase discount.

I hope this explains things a little better.

If you have any other questions, just let us know.

      • Ty for getting back to me CallCloud. So (as a new customer) does the $18.8 'SIM Card' contain a sim card and the data credit?

This is the page I am referring to: https://callcloud.com.au/products/south-korea-data-plans-ear…?

        • Hi guten,

Correct. Just be aware that link is for early bird pricing, plans 90 days or more in advance.

          Regards,
