Xiaomi Prices in Chinese Retail Stores

Posted this as a comment in a deal thread, thought it might be useful for some people travelling to China/HK.

While prices are generally lower than Gearbest/Aliexpress even on sale, IMO GB provides a good service for shipped products to Aussie doors with some form of warranty, so I'd never expect them to match native Xiaomi prices by default.

Also I didn't go to Mi just to take down prices, so I've only listed what I bought or took interest in / notice of in the Shenzhen flagship store. There are some in-store sales compared to mi.com (CN).

Lastly, Xiaomi in China do a lot more than just what they're known for in Aus (power banks, phones, fitness bands) - they have loads of different home products (from every kind of home automation device to washing machines, AC units, TVs and soundbars), drones, electric scooters and go karts (!), luggage, and even a ukelele. Store is worth a visit just to check this stuff out, which all looked typical Xiaomi high quality from a basic first impression.

Buyer beware! Do not buy any XIOAMI phones or tablets in China as they would be Chinese versions (some of them can not be reflashed). HK is okay though.

    • Chinese versions also lack the important 4G bands like B28. Fortunately the community here share good deals on the HK/EU versions ;)

  • Nicely done.

Also worth mentioning there are often sales in the mi.com store.

  • Thanks for these, Soothsayer! Do you happen to know how much the window/door sensors are going for?

    • I'm pretty sure they were 45 RMB or 49 RMB (~$9-10)

  • note to myself for next trip to Shenzhen, bring one empty luggage for all those xiaomis

Or you could buy some Xiaomi luggage while you're over there ;)

      • Actually the Xiaomi luggage is one of the few things I don't really recommend, because it's all pretty heavy for the size. I prioritise low weight but that might just be me - they certainly feel tough though!

        • A lot of it seems really small as well. Shame as the weight wouldn't make it suitable for airline travel.

  • hmm you can always just go to https://www.mi.com/index.html and find the Mainland china page.

Yeah I sort of mentioned that in the OP - there are a lot of in-store discounts compared to mi.com. Most of the gear in the OP has some form of discount. From the look of the tags it looks like they're semi permanent.

For example, the robots are 20% off from 499 to 399 RMB. So $83 in store vs $104 on mi.com, $158 on Gearbest or $180 on mi.com.au.
