Noticed this on Amazon and chatted with the support to find out more. This is what I was told :

As a Prime member you’re already eligible to access Amazon Family benefits and do not need to join a separate program.

If you provide details about your child's age information, you'll receive age-based recommendations from Amazon Family. You can add or manage your child's details here: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/family/account

There are no fees associated with Amazon Family. As long as you’re an active Prime member on amazon.com.au, you're eligible to receive all Amazon Family benefits free of charge.

We respect strict privacy standards with the information you share with us as part of Amazon Family.
