Anyone Know Where to Find Passport Self-Service Photo Booth in Melbourne?

Hey all, do you know where to find those passport photo booths around Melbourne are?

I am pretty sure I have seen/passed many of them but cannot remember a single location when you actually need them the most.

I have checked:
1. Melbourne Central
2. Emporium
3. QV
4. Factory Jam (not valid for passport)
5. Flinders St (not valid for passport)

Checked a few forums but I kinda gave up after checking the above. thanks!!

Why not just do it at Australia Post?

best to do it here, might cost a big more but they cant complain u took it wrong!

      • I took the photos myself and sized them to spec in Photoshop. Upon handing them to my Aus Pos, the guy shook his head and said that he would likely have to take the photos again.

He went over them with a ruler and a fine tooth comb looking for errors. He begrudgingly passed them and I saved a fortune. So DIY can be achieved!

  • What about the post office terry white chemist or teds cameras

Do it at Post Office so you can be sure that it will be accepted (assuming that you are looking to get a new passport)

  • Flinders Street Station?

Just get it done at a Post Office!

I used idphoto4you.com with a photo taken on my phone and printed it at Big W for 15c. It was accepted for my passport and a visa application here in Australia, and an EU ID card in Europe. YMMV.

    • legend! did you use any extra lighting? I did try it at home, having a problem with the shadow part.

      • I actually did it in my bathroom, the bright lights around the mirror fixed the shadow problems on the wall behind. Took as many photos as necessary to find one I liked that passed the conditions.

@All, have to add here, not really about the cost, but more like to make sure i like the picture, stupid reason i know but hey :)

I have done most of my photo ID in au post, and from experience, they dont really care if you like it or not, which i can understand. thats why I prefer a 'proper' passport photo booth so i can check the result and redo as many times as i want.

I did mine at Aus Post couple of years ago, and they let me see if I liked the photo before they printed. To be fair, I made sure I asked at the start if they’re happy to let me see first.

As long as you’re friendly and polite, they should say yes.

      P.s. I didn’t neg you.

I’ve also been to AusPost and been able to choose. Though I’ve found going at off peak times the staff aren’t more willing to give you the time. i.e. don’t go at lunchtime.

  • You could try this

I posted it, and have done it successfully.

  • There is a Panda Photo studio in Melbourne's CBD that takes passport and visa photos from different countries. They are fast and they are responsible.

  • Officeworks do a good job with a refund guarantee if they're knocked back
