2919 Panasonic's out next month as well. https://www.channelnews.com.au/panasonic-reveal-see-through-…

The 2019 LG OLED's are the only models this year to support the full bandwidth (48Gbps) HDMI 2.1 spec which is kind of a big deal so you can game in 4K at 120Hz or 8K at 60Hz with built in support for variable refresh rate (VRR), low latency mode, fast switching inputs, dynamic HDR, uncompressed Atmos over eARC etc the list goes on. Will be upgrading from my B6 LG OLED to the C9 for sure but holding out for a good deal on the 65-inch model.

    • I think all these features are niche though and most will be far better off saving around $1000 with the older models.

Many of the 2019 series in TV's weren't big steps forward, and in cases, some equivalents were actually a step back.

"game in 4K at 120Hz or 8K at 60Hz" that'd be great if the TV actually supported either of those resolutions/rates. Also I don't see anything about the TV supporting VRR. It's an optional part of the spec I believe, so I don't think it's included.

      • Rtings says it has VRR support, but so far only Xbox One X has support for HDMI forums VRR and they had issues with HDR on it. SDR is fine. LG says they're working on a fix.

As to 4K@120Hz, that needs a HDMI 2.1 source, and they had none so couldn't be tested.

        • And by the time tech catches up, you'd be far better off buying the TV then.

      • The C9 does support 4K at 120Hz over HDMI 2.1 so it will be ready for the next gen consoles due out next year. GPUs released next year will also support the HDMI 2.1 spec. If I was in the market for a new TV this year, I wouldn't be buying one without HDMI 2.1 support.

  • How is delivery with these guys? Do they schedule a date for drop-off?
