Small Power Bank Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a small/light power bank to charge an S10, with as little drain as possible when not in use.

I don't know what the largest capacity is that would be suitable, as a lot of the large capacity ones seem to be physically large and heavy. I'm just needing something to keep in the backpack in case of emergency to get me through a day. Want to be able to take it on the plane as well.

Thanks!

  • Mi Power bank 2s for less than $18 delivered is probably the best value powerbank that you can buy currently. It is the cheapest 10,000mah powerbank that also does quick-charging.

There is a much slimmer 5000mah Xiaomi powerbank that will easily fit in a pants pocket and you can charge your phone while carrying both the device and battery in the same pocket (useful if you aren't using a bag) but 5000mah will only charge an S10 once, and it won't be a quick charge either sine it's limited to 1 amp.

  • Thanks for the quick reply :) At the moment, I've got an old Panasonic 2850mAh, so anything's going to be an improvement on that - but, it's nice and compact. A single charge should be plenty, it's more for those odd occasions when I'm out and need an extra 30% to get me through the day.

Good to know the 5000mAh one won't do quick charge though - I guess a trade-off if I want more portability vs. the 10,000mAh one.

    • Why not both :) I own both and I frequently carry the small one as 'emergency' but for planned trips and journeys I will swap out the small one for the larger one.

There are also fast charging 5000mah powerbanks such as the Samsung one as linked below by bdl.

Not sure about the ‘KOGAN’ Branding though…

  • I like the Xiaomi 10000mAH ones with the QC2.0 input/output, as well as the Anker PowerCore 10050+ that also has QC input/output. Lately I've been using the Samsung charger I got from this deal. It also has QC input/output but what I really like is that is charges using USB-C, so I don't have to carry a micro USB cable with me. Best part? It was free!

  • Thanks all for the recommendations, I've been having a good look at them, but they all still seem quite large (surface area) :/ Anything I've found under 10cm long also doesn't seem to be available in AU, or it's a dodgy looking brand that would probably explode in my pocket!

  • I use the LAMAX 10000 mAh Quick Charge and I am very satisfied with it. But I think most of the above-mentioned power banks are at a similar level so you will not make a mistake buying one…
