Buying White Goods from Kogan?

Hi,
I've been looking around and can't seem to find much information on people's experiences with buying white goods from Kogan. I've been looking at their washing machines and dish washers. They seem to have decent prices but not too many reviews.

Does anyone have any experiences with kogan with these types of appliances?

I'm on a super low budget but need to purchase a dish washer (benchtop possibly) and an 8kg front loading washing machine.

What's wrong with buying off Gumtree then?

    • Because last time I bought off gumtree the washing machine shook like crazy. So, I'm not doing that again and am now in need of replacing.

Try gumtree or get your SO to do the dishes for you.

Edit: In before I get called a sexist, I'm a woman.

    • Cool, I'm a woman too. My SO works long hours and would prefer to spend quality time with my partner rather than doing the dishes.

      • Fair enough :)

Takes about 5-10 minutes if both my SO and I do them in tandem, one of us unpacks the dry rack while the other does the dishes. And we swap regularly. Can definitely make it into a teamworking bonding experience with the SO. I always think that going through some tough things strengthens ur bond. :) As for the topic, I’d invest and save up for a reliable machine, maybe smaller as they would be cheaper. You can recoup the cost in resale and your general quality of life.

        Eh?

      • Oh poor dear.
A few minutes washing dishes wont hurt anyone.
Why not work as a team with one doing the washing and the other drying.

Don't buy Kogan brand stuffs, they are like amazing in picture photo website and bad in reality

    • Bummer, guess that's why there isn't too many reviews.

    • this. Feedback is that if something goes wrong, you get zero help. From a store you can go back and get resolution.

Kogan is great for pre paid mobile phone plans. Apart from that I wouldn't want the hassle of dealing with them if your washing machine breaks down

I bought a Fisher & Paykel 8kg SmartWash washing machine about a year ago from Seconds World. It had a ding in the side but the machine wasn't affected in any way & has worked perfectly since I got it. Because of the ding on the side I got it for a fantastic price which included delivery & installation. Its worth checking them out. They're only online & it was the first time I purchased white goods this way but I would return to them again when I need something. :)

  • 2nds World has a good reputation and cheap prices.

Although it was bought by Gerry Harvey last month. Hopefully he won’t up the prices.

    • Looks like their website is down since Gerry bought it

  • All whitegoods are now made in China.
They are graded as either bad OR worse.

Better to get an old one made in Australia if you can
