BP Gift Card new conditions

BP gift cards have updated their conditions of use:
1) one card per transaction
2) minimum amount use is $5
3) split payments not allowed with either gift card or credit card.

Not sure how they are going to manage if you don't have cash on you to make the difference.

Update: 5/7/19 expanded customer care comments.

The bp fuel card and the bp giftcard are different forms of payment and have different terms and conditions. These conditions have not changed.

The fuelcard can be only use one card per transaction - these cards are applied for by businesses with valid ABNs.

The giftcard can be used in the same transaction as a credit or debit card however 2 giftcards can not be processed on the same transaction - a gift card can be purchased by any customer at a BP station to use at a later date.

Kind Regards,

Odette

So what happens if I have less than $5 left on the giftcard???

    • You lose the money

I think fair trading/ACCC will disagree.

      • or do they mean, the transaction must be >$5 in order for a giftcard to be used?

  • And what happens if I put in $20 fuel but only have $18 on gift card with no split payments…siphon it out?

Don't think the brain trust at BP has thought it out fully

    • That's dumb.

I pay with multiple gift cards and card combinations at Caltex all the time.

  • I do not think this is new. However, these conditions may not be enforced.

    • I have an older BP Fuel card that didn't have the "one card per transaction" printed on the back.

When I used it a few days ago at Johnston St Fitzroy, the manager told me that and refused to accept credit card as split payment and said only cash. Luckily I had enough.

When I asked where did it say that, he said somewhere on back.

Checked the newer cards I received at home and there it was, now printed on back.

It was annoying and I've previously done split payments with the same manager
