    Buying this phone regardless of spec is trouble. 6 and 6plus are already locked to iOS 12 and didn't get iOS 13. This model is immediately next in line.

  I don't recommend these small storage old 6 series. For futurproof, you need at least iphone 7s or 8 with bigger storage.

    Depends on your use case. If buying for mother in law already too expensive. In fact a 6 plus at ios12 would be fine. And she won’t use it for anything except phone calls and iMessage. Photos can be handed off to iCloud.
