I think you're the butt of the joke here.

  • For something about this price, wouldn’t it be better to get the tab s4?

    • Don't think you can get a tab s4 for sub $700 currently. The main point of getting s4 would be the ability to use the s-pen, everything else seems to be newer.

    • +1

do some googling … the summary is only based on the S-Pen. CPU performance is pretty close. S5e is smaller & lighter.

      • And on the tab s5e, you need to be careful not to hold it wrong …

Yes, it is a bit tricky actually with the small bezels. No issues with that stupid wifi complaint that some people had.

I got the 128gb version of this from TGG on ebay last month in their last 20% deal. Happy so far. Can't help but think that deal will be available again soon.

    • how do you find the wifi? theres been reports of it dropping if you hold your hand over one of the corners.

      • WiFi has been fine in my limited use.

      • Wifi seems fine although a bit weaker than my phone when next to each other on the same wifi connection.

    Very very nice mid-range tablet.

I am using it with Samsung Dex as my home computer and sold my Desktop.

    • I have the same tablet, what Dex dock did you buy?

      • U don't need a dock i guess, u can soft toggle from screen

        • +1

Any old USB c to hdmi cable is enough same as note 9 etc. DeX is great.

        • Yeah, Though if he's using it as a replacement for a desktop, I'm assuming he has a Dex dock to connect his Monitor and peripherals rather than just using the soft toggle

      • I have a few usb-c docks with HDMI, ethernet, usb-a, usb-c power.

I didn't test them all, but the DodoCool brand works with 2560x1440 (interestingly this resolution was greyed out with my S10+). 2560x1440 is the Native resolution of my 25" monitor btw.

There's heaps around but I have found them a bit inconsistent (not just with Dex) but all sorts of uses.

Make sure it is powered, then of course you need to guess with power delivery vs quickcharge etc.

I am powering my 7 in 1 dock with power delivery (pd) from my pixel charger. Power with quick charge s5e adapter was insufficient. So you may need to buy a power delivery charger.

  • Bought one about a month ago from a previous 20% off ebay deal. Couldn't be happier. Great screen and battery life.

  • Bought the 6gb 128gb version in the last deal for around the same price?

Pretty happy with it although The SD710 would of been a better option SoC for this mid range tablet.

Perfect for watching media in bed and playing CSR2 lol

I'd recommend the 6Gb version if you're wanting to play around with Ubuntu on Linux on Dex.
People with the S4 with 4Gb complaining about the low ram warning frequently.

    • +1

Yea, it feels a bit low in RAM with Dex as it doesn't hold many browser tabs in RAM.

With Linux on Dex, I found the graphics performance to be poor (ie not great when scrolling webpages) but maybe this is due to RAM limitations and not graphics acceleration which they're still working on.
