Comments on this thread made me doubt whether i could get my money back.
So I contacted ebay and paypal and went through all the rigmarole to get my money back.

Probably, but I guess they're banking on some people cutting their losses rather than chasing it up, it's a numbers game to these guys.

They send the "item" cough empty box, tracked to some random public access building (council/shopping centre) with the same postcode.
Auspost says tracking delivered, eBay and PayPal think you're the scammer trying to get your refund. Rinse, repeat with another stolen eBay account.
