Is Fulfilled by Amazon an International Transaction?

On amazon and wondering which card to pay with. I know most things there are from OS sellers. But I think Fulfilled by Amazon means it sits in an Oz warehouse?

If amazon is in AU and the goods are in AU, then for CC purposes is it safe to use a normal card, or is it stll an international transaction?

    • So it seems only Mastercard/Visa and bank-issued Amex cards are affected, but not Amex-issued cards?

    • Thanks. But it's not clear. Eg ebay au, items located in au, I can buy some items with no charge, some with. Because the seller acc is based in china etc.
In this case amazon au, items located in au, processor is au.

Also on that list, google have moved processor back to au last year.

  • For what it's worth I've placed several transactions on Amazon.com.au for items sold by Amazon US (which ship from the US), and none have had any international credit card fees via my CBA Mastercard. Note for orders > $1000 they ping you for a customs handling fee as well as the GST (GST is charged on all orders), supposedly that's somewhat refundable if they don't incur the cost, but no refund yet.

Note I did get pinged an international transaction fee via NewEgg so it's not my card that is special.
