What Do You Pay Per Shirt for Dry Cleaning?

So I just moved and can’t find a dry cleaner within range doing shirts for less than $7 a garment!
I’ve opted to pay for the standard wash and iron at $5 per garment instead but I’m curious to know what others pay.

Get non iron shirt wash yourself (washing machine), dry them with free sun light.

Put them on the lowest spin. Hang them out straight away - don't let them sit in the machine. Hang them on hangers when drying.

I iron maybe one shirt a year.

  • $22 for 5 shirts

  • Wash them yourself then hang them on coat hangers to dry and when dry hang them up in the room you shower in with the door closed so they get steamed smooth without much if any effort on your part

Why would you dry clean a shirt?

  • I wash my shirts but have a university student who I found on Airtasker. $2/shirt. t's not quite dry cleaner perfection, but it's close enough.

  • I pay $3.95 for a wash and iron. Steadily risen from $2.50 over the last 10 years or so, but it’s the best decision ever.

    • To raise the price? Makes sense.

    • So of all the decisions that all of the humans have ever made, that one is the best?

      • Literally

        • Bards will tell tales of your dry cleaning exploits for hundreds of years to come.

My wife does mine so it's very expensive!

Costs me some time and effort as I watch netflix and do my ironing like an adult cheapskate.

  • Do it yourself if you want to be a real Ozbargainer. Washing only takes 2 minutes of your own time to get the machine going and ironing is only a few minutes per shirt or less with non iron shirts.

  • As others have said, if you hang them up straight away and use a coat-hanger, you don't need to iron anything.

  • Last time i looked in my area (last year) it was 5shirts/$15 washed and ironed.

My GF washes and irons mine for free and gives me lunch to take to work as well.

I just wash them and hang them on a hanger and they are fine (easycare shirts)
