I am on a telstra month to month plan now. Would I be able to move to Vodafone/Optus/Boost prepaid now without any cancellation fees and still keep my number? Thanks in advance.

Do it all through your new provider; they will have a process for porting your number across.
I wouldn't make contact with Telstra; they may contact you to validate the move.Month by months should mean there's no penalty when you change provider.

Thanks guys. If I want to move to Boost (Telstra) prepaid would it be okay to move directly from Telstra or should I move to optus/vodafone first?
Ask Telstra.
Also change to Kogan Mobile which uses the Vodafone network and will save you even more money than being with Tel$tra :)
