      Huh?

      • Evidently, he heard the word "fork" and got hungry.

        • That's the same thought I had

      • Lost sense of taste humour

    • Is fork a euphemism for crotch?

      • I think they don’t know the word gusset

    • I wonder is this warmer than the heat tech long sleeve? This is 100% cotton though should be more comfy.

both for $29.90 or each $29.90?

    • +5

Click the link and find out.

      • link says $29.90 per item so just clarifying.

    • Each. Usually they're 40 bucks per.

      • -3

ok but the post says AND so wasnt sure.

      • +7

This shouldn't be 40 bucks, $29.90 is pushing it. If it go down 20 buck I probably buy it.

        • agreed

The prices in Australia definitely high on this. They are usually around $30 at Uniqlo in other countries!

This is still active? In store they advertise $5 off with their app.

For $30 Aldi have/had 100% merino top and bottom thermals last Sat, I have been wearing this week and LOVE them.

    • Are the Aldi thermals still on sale? Their website don't seem to show them

      • They were special buys last Saturday, they sell until out of stock, they had plenty at my local, I'm guessing there would still be some available.

    • +2

I just cannot stand wearing merino, and I have tried the best (eg icebreaker etc), I know they are the best for warmth (especially when damp) but I just cannot do it.

UNIQLO heat-tech are my go to warm thermals. Great gear.

      • Why? Itchy? Don't breathe?
I am far from an expert, just wanted something that keeps me warmer during cold Adelaide winter working outdoors, and like the idea of natural fibre. I don't need it to wick sweat away or anything like that.

      • So you can wear it while sitting down?

      • Have you tried Icebreaker's Cool-Lite range? It's merino wool blend and I can tolerate them for active conditions but for lounging around I stick to HEATTECHs.

      • Complete opposite to me. I've got Kathmandu thermals as well as uniqlo (ultra) and some merino.

Merino are the best for me. Kathmandu keeps me warm outdoors. Uniqlo was disappointing. I still felt cold. (Was wearing same outer pants and similar weather condition)

    • Not sure about Aldi one, but I can vouch that Uniqlo heat tech indeed works and its very comfortable to wear.

  • damnit, just bought 2 for $80 the other week when it was super cold with the $10 code I could’ve got them for $50 🤬

Well worth the money though, nothing comes close to how warm and nice these feel during cold nights!

can anyone ELI5 why there's such a stupid markup on heattech in australia? i generally stock up when i go to japan where its 990 jpy (around $15 aud after vat) for the regular heattech and 1990 jpy for the extra warm ones.

    • +1

There's no rhyme or reason, we just pay more for most stuff in Australia even after accounting for the bad AUD currency exchange rate.

      • Yeah because things are magically transported to each shop as soon as they a made in the factories.

        • Even after accounting for shipping costs we pay more.

          • +4

            @deadpoet: 1990 JPY to AUD = $27

This price now is hardly a 'stupid markup'.

We also have less extreme winters, they probably sell more per store. Have better economics of scale, don't have to ship them 8400kms. etc.

        • +3

You can blame the ridiculous rents charged by retail shop owners i.e. the Westfield's of the world.

    • @notYuna,
Where in Japan? Online & delivered to whereever you're staying, or a bricks & mortar shop?

    • Supply and demand. Sellers will sell what they can, where they can, at the highest viable price. Also, shipping.

Are they as warm as or warmer than Ultra Warm Heattech?

      • I'm a bit late but got both. I prefer Kathmandu hands down.

Uniqlo feels slightly nicer, like it felt it should be warm but it was no where warm enough compared to Kathmandu

How long does it take for the code to arrive?

  • Is this warm enough to wear in the snow?
Maybe combined with a jumper and a snow jacket?

    • Plenty. In Australia you might be too hot even.

    • Yer.

  • What's the cheapest item to add 20c when buying two to cover postage? Any ideas?

  • Looks like they're out? Nothing comes up in the special offers section for me

  • expired showing 99.9 each

  • Can anyone who's bought long johns comment on sizing??

  • Need to size up or down with these?
