[Switch] 911 Operator - $1.62 (Was $24.49, 93% off), The Way Remastered - $1.59 (Was $23.99, 93% off) @ Nintendo eShop

440

A few more games were added to the eshop sales that weren't previously posted on Vooks or the deal yesterday.

911 Operator seems like a decent little title for the price (you can even play the game based in several major Australian cities if you choose to).

Based on reviews I've watched and read it can be quite addictive, but potentially repetitve by the end.

The "complete" edition is also on sale for under $5 on the eshop which includes roughly $15 worth of DLC:

Also available and of note is everyone's favourite "I have some gold points to spend" title - The Way Remastered!

Back to it's all time low of $1.59 (great for those who avoided it last time when it was $1.60 on sale - How dare they):

  • Lol, yeah I bought The way with gold points previously. Still don't think I've played it. Guys I'll grab 911 cheers.

Edit/ I just grabbed Burnstar from the US eshop for US$0.99 which is usually US$19.99

    • How do you personally purchase through foreign eshops?

Buy credit from Amazon US or PC Game Supply.

        • Overall, is there a considerable saving by buying games from the US store? Do you need to have a US account?

          • @cheepo: You do need a US account, its easy to set up and you can still play the games on your Aussie account. With the way to exchange rate is right now the difference isn't crash hot but it gives you more options when they get a sale that we don't.

          • @cheepo: Some games are considerably cheaper. For example, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy is 50% discounted in both stores but the US store is about $28 AUD after conversion whereas the AU store is $40AUD.

      • Because I'm too lazy to buy prepaid credits, this is how I set it up on my Switch:
        - Create a Paypal account with a valid US address, and add a credit card (I use 28degress to avoid currency conversion fee)
        - Create an eshop account with a valid US address and link it with the US Paypal account
        - On Switch, choose the US eshop account when you want to access eshop, and that's it. Payment will be done through the US Paypal account which charges the Australian credit card.

Looking at the picture I thought it was dominoes pizza game

  • So just played the start of 911 Operator and it's quite easy to see the appeal. Even though it's a "single player" game, it allows you to connect multiple controllers if you want to involve a friend, family member or significant other to divide the responsibilities

I.e. one person can handle the phone calls while the other dispatches units. Might take a little communication and coordination, but should work fairly well :)

  • Is 911 Operator similar to the game This Is The Police? Looks kinda the same. That could be a good thing.

    • Haven't played TITP, but possibly.

You take 911 calls and have to manage sending out Police, Ambulance and FireFighters to each thing that shows up as well as financially maintaining your squads and utilities

      • Thanks. It sounds very similar. I'll give it a go for sure.

  • This has probably been asked a bajillion times but can you make an account and start building a library without owning a console? I'm all in on the Lite but I'm getting a bit shirty watching good sales go by, and I guarantee when that little sucker comes out there won't be a decent sale for a good 18 months.

These sort of games go on sale every month tbh. Just happens to be the first time 911 Operator has dropped this low.
Afaik, you can't buy without an account already linked to a console.

Check out the website DekuDeals and have a look at the price history charts for these sort of games

    • If you have a friend with a console ask them to setup an account for you?

  • Thanks, I was interested in both, but unwilling to pull the trigger at rrp.
