Looked at forums but all posts are quite old.
Just wondering if anyone has an Amazon Kindle Fire 8 tablet and are able to use it here in Oz.
Was thinking about getting one via a friend of mine in the UK during the Amazon Prime sale this week.
Reviews seem to indicate not worth it as they don't work in Oz as far as getting apps etc. I continue to run my Kindle reader through the US. Refuse to change to Amazon Oz as US is cheaper even with GST now. So I am guessing I will have no problems with my kindle library.
I did have a reason for getting one but have now forgotten what it was. I know it was to access something that was not available to me on a Windows PC. Guess it will come back to me at some point. Alzheimers setting in early maybe!
Reluctant to waste money if it is basically useless.
Its supposed to be trivial to sideload apps and add google play store to these, so if you are ok to do that then go hog wild and get one.
From what I can tell, dont expect too much in way of screen quality or performance though.
