Power Cord for Macbook?

My puppy chewed the power cord and it is now cactus with wires exposed. Having nothing to lose it was pulled apart in the hopes of shortening it and making it useful but it's moulded in such a way it's impossible. There are plenty of sellers on ebay with American plugs for around $8 but none with three pin Aus plugs. The few places I called want to sell me the complete charger $109 :0 but the brick part is OK. Anyone got a spare they want to sell?

  • What model and which part of the power cord is cactus.

Some have round plug, others use mag safe and there are different watt outputs

    Cable chewed is it the

    Brick to macbook side
    Power to brick side

Or are the power pins built into the brick

USA powercords can be overcome with an adaptor

Depending on age/model may have one that might suit

  • The brick and the magsafe plug are OK-It's the extension cord with the 3 pin plug on one end and the the adapter that slides into the brick on the other. About 2 years old.

  • Interesting that you can't shorten it. Anyway if you're not too fussed one of these will work.

I use it when i don't have my long power cord around. If you have devices at home that you don't use anymore such as camera battery charger with a long cord, dvd players etc. They typically use this kind if it's detachable.

  • Thanks so much for that. I might just check if there is one lying around. I thought I'd have to go the apple way and pay mega dollars-not something a dedicated Ozbargainer wants to do :)

    • +1

Just found one!! It works a treat and got it at home for free :) I am a very happy girl. I will keep this well away from the sharp puppy teeth.

      • Glad that you found one :)

I hate how much a premium apple wants you to pay for accessories.
