$99 AirPods eBay Plus deal - who got in?

What seemed to be mission impossible earlier this morning when the deal was first posted, became quite a feast for many according to the comments here. I feel that the ones who managed to get to a 'timed out' order screen at 10am or 11am had most luck, simply being able to hit the 'Confirm & Pay' button an hour (2h, 3h) later, jumping the queue.

So my question is, did you manage to grab one and if so, at what time?

  • I was lucky at 11 am through sheer copy and paste speed + a little luck. 12PM onwards had a lot of the Confirm & Pay buyers I think once everyone figured it out.

Wow, so you went through the 2-step checkout process in one go? That's impressive!

      • I think it was easier as most people missed the 10am one (as most people refreshed the linked page/waited for the banner page rather than the Deals page) so there were very few who could've had it in their cart yet. 11am was still very much a scramble of code input as the total process time around between 1st and last was about 20 seconds.

  • I would like to know the chance of getting one. Is it hard? I have used Ebay plus trial and I will be billed immediately for Ebay plus.

    Add option for No luck?

  • I was a 'confirm and pay' buyer at 3pm, having sat on the page from previous hour. Paid with gift card which saved me a little extra (purchased from woolworths promo a month ago)

I paid via credit card and forgot I had one $100 GC left from that promo as well! Oh well, you can't win them all!

  • Got one at 4pm with the spamming in cart strategy after failing all day

  • Got lucky at 12 PM run. Have been trying ever since on wife’s account but no luck

Bought two pairs on the"jumping the queue" strategy :D

  • Can someone suggest what can i follow, i have been trying every hour ans unable to get to it…would someone advise any strategy?? I was unable to get to add the item to the cart too….Thanks heaps

I managed to add to cart the first drop i attempted but couldn't check out as no items left in stock. Left my browser open on that screen and spammed check out on the next hour. Succeeded.

  • For those who bought a pair, this Silicone case and neck strap may interest you. It’s available in 3 colours and it’s a small amount to spend to get a better grip on the case, and reduce the risk of losing one down a drain (I hear replacements are costly).

I tried every hour for the entire day, but never got a pair. I don’t know how I managed to miss out, even with having done the “Confirm and Pay” method 3 times. Was frustrating to see multiple “New users” (which most of them were probably duplicate accounts from scalpers) which had snagged many pairs. But, that’s the luck of the draw I guess.

I see how our veteran"OzBargainer" outnumbered by regular people.

  • Got a pair and ebay just sent a bullshit email advising they are canceling the transaction due to security concerns.

    • I got the same email. Looked on my PC, product still there, look in the app on my phone and ebay have removed the sale (removed item).

    • I got the same email
      Did ebay cancelled the order?

  • I have just been on chat with ebay, it appears the cancellation is an error on their behalf. Transcript below:

ok, its just that the item has been deleted on my app, and the company selling it has basically disappeared

    Ronna Mae Amor11:54 AM
That is right but you don't have to worry, Heidi. This is a genuine transaction even though the item has been removed from the site as well as the seller.

This removal was actually done in error.

Hope this helps anyone who was lucky enough to score them from having a heart attack :)
