How Much Discount Should You Expect to Get for Floor Stock at Bunnings?

Hi all, I’ve been looking at getting a rechargeable backpack sprayer to help me out when I’m spraying my yard (fertiliser and such). I have a few Ryobi one+ skins and batteries and noticed they brought out a sprayer. At $229 I’m not springing for one…however, the last unit (display model) at my Bunnings was offered to me a “discounted” rate of $209. I’m just interested if you excellent folk would expect to get more of a discount, and if so, what would be fair to you?

Cheers

Varies based on store, if it’s a deleted item, condition of the item and if it’s missing parts.

I’d say $209 is good but if you want the item than anything under retail is a good price.

    • It’s not being ordered in again, so the helpful lass behind the counter told me. She was doing her best to get a deal done, it was the store manager who came in at $209 and wouldn’t budge. Thanks for replying.

  • I wouldn't bother unless you get at least 20% off. otherwise get a brand new one.
I guess in your situation you have to take the discount on the floor item offered as there at not any non-display items in stock.

    • Kind of where my head was at with it too. I was looking around the 20% but didn’t know if I was being cheeky or not. Thanks for replying.

The Silvan one is cheaper and comes from a company that makes spray gear. Better buy I reckon. Had mine for over 7 years and only changed the battery once. Used most days.

    • Worth a look, that’s for sure! Thanks for the tip!

  • Bunnings being the distributor and retailer for Ryobi, selling at $209 is still a very nifty profit.

Ps. Battery powered sprayer for a suburban block is overkill. Have you tried the backpack sprayer with the lever pump? Left hand pulls the lever and right hand aims.

I have one that I use at the moment. I’ve got 700m2 of turf grass to spray so I was just hoping to cut out the pumping as well as keep constant pressure. Probably overkill, but I’m not as young and fit as I used to be :) thanks for replying.

  • I would expect more than that if its a display model because its already been used or at least people have played around with it. I bought a Ryobi line trimmer for $50 i think the original price was $180. It was missing a few parts (fuel cap and air filter cover) and was a display model but no fuel ever went into to it. So yes basically new but people still up and play with them its got scratches and stuff on it.

    • How do you go getting the replacement parts for your trimmer? Cheers

if it's a Ryobi then Bunnings should be able to get them in as they own the brand

  • I would expect $0 due to the 10 second rule.
