Without seeing any feedback the powerboard looks pretty good, and perfect for what I need on my bedside table. Worth a shot considering a single smart plug can be $20.

    Thanks OP.

  • Anyone know if the USB ports can be controlled through the app?

    • Usually on the smart plugs they can't, and if it doesn't specifically mention it, probably not. If I need to control a USB on this, I will use one of the regular plugs with an adapter.

    • One of the pictures shows the app with a button to turn all USB ports on and off together.

      • Yeah, reading the reviews linked from KentT it seems you can control them all together, which is better than most.

    AU powerplug?

    • +2

Assume so, as the plug holes are AU

      • Chinese sockets look exactly the same.

  • Thanks for the heads up grabbed two of the power boards to give them a try out too..

2000W maximum load. Avoid this crap.

    • Please explain to the noobs (me) why this is bad?

I plan to use it for:
      1. Room Heater.
2 & 3 Electric fitted sheets (dual side).

Will never use 1 & 2, but likely to use 2 & 3 at the same time.

      • Room heater should over the load, some of them are 2200W.

2 & 3 consume little juice so it should be fine

Without understanding individual requirements, do not downvote. Don't buy it but leave the choice to people mate!

      • -1

I'm not taking away anyone's choice.

    • +6

Well, I'm hardly going to Google Home control my deep fryer, vacuum cleaner or portable bar heater; am I? For the intended use, 2000W is fine.

      • +2

Absolutely, I'm connecting a lamp, a couple of chargers, a router, and maybe a TV, shouldn't blow the budget.

    • +1

as opposed to your GPO that has a 10A rating so 2400W max

      • …yes? What's your point?

      • as opposed to your GPO that has a 10A rating so 2400W max

        10A @ 230V is 2300Watts.

Thought about it for too long and now its out of stock :(

    • All showing in stock for me?

      • Board shows only available from 3rd party sellers which then shows no results

  • Can anyone recommend smart wall switch / dimmer to control non-smart LED light?

  • Any opinions on which of the 2-packs are better?

    • Based on the reviews, I would say the Toppersun

  • +2

    Reviews are here - https://www.amazon.com/Jinvoo-Protector-Outlets-Required-Goo…

And some of them aren't very encouraging

I've had the smart powerstrip OP has linked (no. 3 in the list) for just under a year now. Makes an absolutely lethal combo with a Google home. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding it because there's barely any info available about it online…

Regarding the earlier question about controlling the USB ports, yes you can, however not individually (ie. You can set the USB outlets to be either on or off altogether, not 2 on, 2 off for example). The plugs however are all controlled individually, and can be renamed to whatever you want for ease of voice controls (eg. "Hey Google, turn on the charger", or "hey Google, turn on the monitor")

    • not there anymore unforunately

    • Can you say "Hey Google, turn on [Plug 1] in 10 minutes"? Or is it only on/off?

I have a Brilliant smart plug and I can't set a timed function, but apparently TP Link can.

Also, a few reviews stating that it fails after some time, you've obviously had no issues in the last year?

        1. Unfortunately can't ask it to turn something on/off after a set amount of time using GAssistant. However (less useful though), you can set schedules using the jinvoo app to turn on/off devices. Eg. I have it set to automatically switch off my laptop charger and monitor at 2am in case I forget to before I go to sleep.

        2. I have had to reset the board on two occasions. One of them was due to a power outage at my place, of which I'll give it the benefit of doubt as I can't really blame it for that. The second instance though was about a couple months back where one day it just randomly decided to no longer work with google assistant (eg. Using the jinvoo app would work fine, however trying to use the google home app would have no response.) That was resolved by resetting the board and relinking it to my google home account.

        Other than that, no issues.

        • Thanks Shekster :) Much appreciated!

I wonder how this integrates with Home Assistant…

    • I'm wondering if they support ifttt ?

      • I can't say for certain, as I haven't used IFTT before.

If you give me a relatively simple example routine I can try giving it a go when I get a chance and let you know how it goes.

        • From reading reviews on Amazon US it looks as though it works with smart life app now and this in turn works with ifttt.
Thanks for the offer but it wouldn't really help what I'm trying to work out. Thanks all the same.

If you are keen and willing to reset your device and download the smart life app and see if it does work with it that would be appreciated. But bare in mind this will cause you to reset it again to allow you to add it back to your original jinvoo app. And then also setup your on/off schedules.

    • does it have an australian power plug and works ok with google home?

      • Big yes for both

  • smart socket I assume use an app with security issues??

  • Just to let people know that two of the items are back in stock!

  • Impulsively bought the two pack of smart plugs, they're quite a good price compared to what else is out there :)

  • The power strip arrived yesterday, pretty happy with it so far. It does have a notable clunk when you change anything, but that's not too bad. Set up was pretty easy, only thing to be wary of is that you should set up all the names before importing into Google Home, as they don't update when you change them in the Jinvoo app. If you wanted to change them after (as I did), you need to reload the account and re-allocate to rooms.

The power strips arrived yesterday and were easy to setup. I can confirm that each socket can be individually controlled!
