Coca-Cola Energy, Which Medicine Does It Taste Like?

I tried a can of Coca-Cola Energy on a deal from 7/11 today and it gave me strong memories of being sick as a child and having to drink liquid medicine.
Does anyone know which one? I was thinking Panadol liquid or maybe Robitussin, whichever it is, I can’t say I buy another can.

I haven't had that Coke but the cough syrup I used to have as a child was Benadryl (which I think had Dextromethorphan, like Robitussin). It's hard to forget that taste ;)

    • Yeah could be that one, sounds familiar.

  • I opened a can took a sip and tipped the rest down the drain.
    man that taste's bad.

  • Doesn't taste like medicine to me.
Tastes like Monster Assault, which is energy drink flavour with cola.
Guarana has a taste. Coke did the best they can to make the drink taste like Coke.
After my second one is tastes more like Coke. It's not as similar as I was originally hoping but it's not bad.
Anyway I didn't have much medicine as a kid.

  • Creaming soda mixed with coke don't think it will go well.

  • It tastes smooth and mild and a little flat, not the usual energy drink PUNCH! taste… which means this is more of a drink you can drink in volume rather than the sips that are more than enough with Red Bull etc. However, any day of the week i'd go for Red Bull.

It tastes like a cheap cola with something that makes it tough to drink.

    I miss Pepsi Max Kick.

What is this drink you speak of?

    Edit:

Each can of Coca-Cola Energy contains:
    105 Calories
    80mg of caffeine
    26g Carbohydrates
    26g Sugar
    0g Protein
    10mg Salt
    4mg Niacin
    0.38mg vitamin B6

    Wowser!😮

I guess they ran out of flavours for Coke… I can remember they had Coke in Ginger, Orange, Coffee, Peach… and tricked the supermarkets into buying them and then having to offload at crazy low prices due to the disinterest.

Yea i guess so. Outta those i didn't mind the peach one but the coffee one just gross and aweful.

Yea, Peach is quite nice actually. Mango and Strawberry are terrible fake flavours. Energy one is just pure horrid, how on earth did it pass customer testing??

All those flavours are only ever planned to be short term production runs (like McDonalds putting beetroot on hamburgers. Often they are just trying to get some "chat" happening around the brand.

The Coke range is fairly big elsewhere. In Japan it runs to around 200 product lines (not all branded Coke). Australia is a smaller product because of our small population, extended supply chain and strict food laws.

and tricked the supermarkets into buying them and then having to offload at crazy low prices due to the disinterest.

The supermarket buyers are some of the smartest and hardest negotiating around. They don't get tricked into anything.

    • Especially with guarana? You'd think there's a far more obvious route to go for with a Coke energy drink….

  • i wonder when sprite energy will come out.

    • Or a Mello Yello version energy drink.
