I find storing them temporarily in supermarket "snack bags" and in a container helps. 😳 It's not classy but saves losing them until I can get them in a device. Yep, you can even label the bag. I did have a cheap eBay holder but found it to be a hassle (cards used to fall out when opening it) and I never knew what the card was being used for or what was on there to begin with.
i think i got the same ebay holder but yes not happy with it.
i dont want just container, i want it lies flat and with even spaces between
I like using an old glasses case to store my SD, mirco SD and usb sticks in. Not very well organised though.
I bought this about 5 years ago from Officeworks, and it is awesome. It's only $5!

Yes there are slots for the Cards!
Its like a tiny photo album, but for cards. You can flip thru the "pages" etc.

Good find. Have to be careful about fake cards, but this seller seems genuine - lots or reviews and only complaints seem to be slow shipping (well, that's life), missing the 'free' adapter (personally I don't care - I have dozens of those hanging around), and the formatted capacity being lower than the size printed on the card (well, yes, that would be right).
