not really, it depends on season. I just looked up bananas on coles online and woolworths online. $2.50 / kg and $5.00 / kg respectively. This is 1.4kg for $2 so about $1.40 / kg.
I am talking about real markets
Chain supermarkets only look after profit, not farmerswell i just used the supermarkets because they have prices online, however most grocers i notice have varying prices as well and it usually goes up and down with coles/woolies pricing. I tend to buy bananas all year round and there are definitely times when you can't get it for $1/kg at least around me in Adelaide metro areas.
