SCOOPON SCAM! -- Little Minnow Restaurant + Classic Car Wash Alexandria

I have tried to no avail book both the restaurant (now expired) as well as Classic Car Wash. Very very shonky!! I tried email [email protected] to no avail. they never answer their email and no phone number!! very very dodgy.

I would never ever again buy anything from scoopon. It is a scam and need to be brought down!

  • yeah i would never do a scoopon, i have done spreets and luckily once i demanded my money back and they only did it due to me tell their facebook page that im going to start an anti spreets facebook, got my money back the next day. They over sell vouchers and then you have to wait ages to use it. The coupons are not worth while.

      See if the page can get more members than the proper Scoopon page? haha

  • Try liking their Facebook page and then put your complaint on their wall. I am currently in a dispute with Spreets and have being doing this and the response is extremely fast.

  • As a neutral in this argument,

    I think SPREETS is not really good on sorting out their deals with their business partners. I have bought a deal with deal and find out only lately the business close down. Spreets did not notify me about this and provided me a credit on my account.
    Until recently I chase them up for a refund they finally process the payment.

    SCOOPON deals also not always the best but you don't need to be emotionally about them. I only buy cheap deals from scoopon about $30 mark no more than max $40. Chance is you wasted only that amount.

    I like JUMPONIT but surely Im not preference to anyone of the groupbuy site. But strongly not recommended LIVING SOCIAL-(Jumponit extend) All deals with international card charges. And also hope not to speak to the person call 'Christian' on their customer service number. He is rude, self arrogance and bad service attitude. However, I came across a girl and another guy they are alright.

    Sorry to hear your experience. Now you learned a lesson.

    You should never go with Scoopon. Don't bother Spoopon even they offer free stuffs. You get them for free, but cost you effort to redeem. overall,negative value.

          Nope, Im not confused with your earlier post. It just that your replies to unhappy customer enquiries here seem very cold and distant, no emotions and repetitive, like a bot.
          At least try to cheer up customers and give them hope in solving their issues, rather than telling them to email you, which of course they've already done many times and it went no where, hence why they resort to online forums.
          Also, Ive been interested in some of the past deals Scoopon has offered, but due to this lack of customer service…you wont have me as your customer. I think many people will feel the same way.

    Have anyone got the details for Scoopon? I mean I can only find so much according to the ABN/ACN and Fair Trading NSW requires the business address with the suburb being the absolute minimum.

    EDIT: disregard the above. Found it outside of the ABR website :-)

    Not exactly happy with their response regarding the Little Minnow. I like it how the deals usually end outside of the chargeback period for Visa/Mastercards. Smart thinking people.

  • Hi, anyone has any success with Classic Car Wash? I feel like I have been scammed by Scoopon and Classic Car Wash. Have been trying to make a booking for MONTHS, noone there pick up the calls, or return messages! Have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to contact them. I have emailed [email protected] to complained and ask for a refund since this deal is a waste of my time and got a standard response of Scoopon refusing to refund and blaming me for not trying hard enough?? They also refuse to acknowledge the fact that I have been trying to make a booking for months!!

    Each customer is responsible for the use of their Scoopon, including redemption. We can certainly help you out when possible, but securing a booking in the last week or two of a 6 or 12 month redemption period is cutting it extremely close.

    At this stage, we’re nearly at the end of the validity period. There was a lot of available bookings that went unutilised during the middle months of the validity period. As there has been bookings that were not used, your request for refund is not valid in this case.

    We’ve had a lot of back and forth with Fair Trading and after all that, we can confidently say that we’ve acted within our rights in denying a refund.

    We understand that this isn’t ideal for you but we hope you can see where we’re coming from.

    Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    • Pathetic response which doesn't help the customer in the slightest. Especially if you have been trying to book for months.

      I would personally be having some 'back and forth with Fair Trading' if I was you.

        • Thanks, I am looking to do that. I am curious to see if anyone had success with Classic Car wash. For me, it's a matter of principle coz the amount of money is not that much. But the fact that Scoopon is trying to cheat me out of such a small amount of money is not right. I'm beginning to think that this is probably how they make money. Dodgy business. I'm extremely disappointed with Scoopon at the moment. I also had problem with another coupon purchased from them which they have agreed to refund (a 2 hours service from Mr Handyman). Exact same problem, tried to book for months, emailed, called, logged in job request, nothing works. Such a waste of time.

  • I tried to book the second of the 2 car washes from Classic Car Wash for 2 weeks before the end of redemption date. The phone rang out until yesterday in frustration I attended the premises to see that there were only 2 workers trying to wash about 20 cars that were waiting to be cleaned. The 'boss' was no where to be found. I really felt sorry for the guys. Even when I went for the first wash, I was there for 2 hours. On contacting Scoopon, was told it was my responsibility to redeem my voucher before end of expiry and the company period where they had had no one with scoopons come in for car washes. I cannot see how this car wash would have handled this any way with just 2 cleaners and the amount of work on hand. So yes, am disappointed to say the least.

  • I bought one for a present to someone who lives near by
    They went said it was fine … No booking needed just went up and got it washed

    Sorry I didn't ask what she got etc, just know she got it washed without hassle

  • All I can say is some car washes are better than others. I would recommend that people don't buy more than one car wash voucher if they haven't used the company before.
