USA Travel Sim Card - Prepaid Sim Company?

Has anyone ever tried Prepaid Sims while travelling.

Heading to NYC soon and trying to find a good Sim card option that gives relatively good data options so that if I need data while out about I have it. For things like uber etc.

This is what I found but it almost seems to good?

  • Never used it before but the last time I went to NY I just got a prepaid sim when I got there. I used AT&T but T-mobile is pretty good too.

  • Just get a sim when you arrive. I'd recommend AT&T

  • Go to Walmart when you get to the USA and get a straight talk sim card. Costs about 49 dollars and you get 50gb of data.

  • Be mindful of USA sim offers that drop back to 3g once LTE data has been expended, I have had multiple terrible experiences with less than dial up speeds when this occurs (ie google maps timing out type speed issues). I am now extremely cautious of the "unlimited" plans with speed fallback.

  • Had heaps of problems with Woolworths Global…would not recommend, Barcelona OK, Naples no good, Rome OK, Dubai OK, Muscat nothing, Mumbai nothing, Cochin sometimes, Singapore nothing…took 2 Sims JIC :)…one did not activate at all…Help did finally fix connection in Singapore after 48hrs, while we at the airport on free WiFi (Passport verified)

  • I used Arieli Mobile (http://www.arielimobile.com/) for a 3 week trip last October. No issues, unlimited data, good speed, would use again. Only time I didn't have coverage was in the middle of Navajo Nation (Utah / Arizona) territory where there weren't any AT&T towers.

  • Just came back from Europe trip - 4 Weeks

    Used https://www.prepaidsims.com.au/products/prepaid-europe-sim-c…

Did put in the wrong activation date on order, so I missed out one day. But was corrected within 24 hours, and after that, happy days.

Would recommend for Europe ( worked also in Switzerland )
