Best Value Quad HD Gaming Monitor

What is the best value gaming monitor that is Quad HD, 25"+, >60HZ and $200-$300. All recommendations are welcomed, including:

-Recent deals that are likely to happen again
-Monitors that are good value normally
-Reliable 2nd hand options

I'm going to attach it with a wall mount, so the default stand doesn't matter. Recommendations on good wall mounts also appreciated!

I understand it's not 100% answering your question, but what's your current setup?

I'll preface my comments with mentioning you're going to struggle to get a monitor with those specs at that price, but that's not actually a bad thing. For any gaming monitors, what I would prioritise is 1). Refresh Rate 2). Adaptive-Sync Tech 3). Resolution 4). Panel Type 5). Panel Size 6). Extras (e.g. Stand Quality, Bezel Size, etc.)

To illustrate my point, you're going to get a better gaming experience from A) A 144hz, Freesync, FHD, IPS, 24" monitor (which is in your price range), than B) A 75hz, non-FreeSync, QHD, TN, 27" monitor (which probably isn't).

To try and answer your question, the closest I can think of is possibly this: https://www.umart.com.au/Samsung-CJG5-27in-144Hz-WQHD-VA-Cur… (but again, in my opinion you could get a better experience for less money if you altered what you were looking for)

    • Thanks for the advice. My current setup won't be able to utilise much above 60hz, so the extra cost isn't worth it.

Looking to swivel it on the wall to save space on my desk. Essentially swivel it one way to face my desk so I can use it for gaming/ uni work, then swivel the other way to watch videos in bed/ play console.

Full HD should also be fine to use, just wondered about Quad HD for that extra niceness.

Samsung U28E590D has specs close to what you want, it's cheap and has a 4k panel, Freesync support and 28 inches.. the big downside is that it is just 60hz. Another possible downside is it's strange VESA mounting placement, which you can see if you zoom into the photo of the product.

You can grab it for $340 with the coupon PILOT

    • qhd is 2560x1440p , not 4k

$299, 1440p, vesa mount and IPS

There is a whirlpool thread on them for reviews etc. People seem to be able to get them running at 75-80hz easily.

  • I never see one of the Kogan 27" monitors (The non-curved IPS) mentioned either on OzB or whirlpool for some reason. Currently for $270 it has:
    • QHD/1440p
    • 75 HZ refresh
    • IPS panel
    * 27"

On paper, it seems like a good deal for people who are after a monitor for light gaming outside of FPS/esports and value resolution over refresh. I wonder if the lack of discussion re: this monitor is due to poor quality or something I have not considered?

Edit: Right after posting this I realised it is not a Freesync monitor, woops!
