[PC] Star Wars: Battlefront II $5.99, Titanfall 2 $5.99 @ EA Origin

370

A couple of games that are probably worth the $6. I've heard battlefront II has a decent single player campaign and didn't mind Titanfall 2.

There are also a few other titles to browse which have been discounted.

  • Is multiplayer still active in titanfall 2?

Dunno mate, I only played the single player campaign.

    • Xbox definitely ain't. I tried it out the other week to show a mate for the first time in ages and it took about 10 minutes to find a match and it was laggy as all (profanity). Would not recommend Xbox, but PC could be fine, don't really know.

    • I uninstalled Titanfall 2 on PC many months ago because I just couldn't get a single multiplayer game going. It's dead Jim.

      • I bought it yesterday for the campaign, but I've been able to get MP games starting about 4:30pm.

Both are great value at this price, esp Titanfall 2 - I think I'm only a few hours into the single player campaign and have definitely got way more than $5.99 in fun.

Best campaign I've played in years. Screw the multiplayer, treat this like a single player game only.

      It's about friendship. And robots!

      • Multiplayer is realy good with what little I managed to play. Problem being there's barely anyone playing on PC and it'll likely take forever to get in a game

    • I'm playing the Star Wars campaign now, seems decent!

      • Decent but the story is all over the show

  • which one is better for multiplayer?

    • I don't think either game has reputable multiplayer. APEX legends is good if you want multiplayer, also free.

      • oh ok

There is Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 though, for $10 (use the same link above). That is pure multiplayer.

EDIT: I'm trying out the SW BF II multi now, assumed it would be dead as per below 'all the crap it got'. I actually got into a game quite quickly so will see how it goes.

    • Cannot speak for Titan Fall 2 but Battlefront 2 still has an Australian community in certain gamemodes such as GA, CS and HvV (also Japan has decent ping and they have lobbies as well).

Also despite all the crap the game got the gameplay/gunplay is actually decent.

    • I take it back man, playing the Battlefront 2 multiplayer now it's pretty awesome.

I tried BF2 back when it was on sale last, I'll copy/paste my comment

Bought it Friday, refunded Sunday. In between I tried finding a match in each game mode and there were between 3-5 players waiting for another 13 or so to actually start a match. I don't care about single player, but multiplayer seems dead.

Apparently playing outside of Oceania region will net you more luck, and the gameplay doesn't suffer too badly due to how the guns work.

The mode I was just in its 2v2 then 3v3 then 4v4 and so on, no wait times. That being said, I'd probably only still recommend for the single player as is often said in regard to this game.

If you want multiplayer just go download Fortnite

  • Titanfall 2 is a very good campaign and def worth it for that price IMO. A highly underrated game IMO. Sound design is great also. Apex legends is like a "free" titanfall 2 battle royale (without the titan mech suits though). If you want to get used to similar guns etc for Apex, then it should be a fun campaign game to get better at aiming in Apex. Apex just does not have titans or wall running.

Battlefront 2 is more casual and easier to get in to and much higher kill rates. Problem with Battlefront is if you are not really good it is difficult to get the highly un-balanced heros on mp or galactic assault. Newest updates have some cool new additions this is totally different game from how it started in the beginning. I miss some of the older maps etc that no longer seem to exist. It is a bit of a grind to level up guns etc so check the prices for battle packs or what ever is required to get the same weapons as long time players. I imagine it would be quite unbalanced if you have to level up at this stage of the games life.

If you like starwars BF is a bit of a fanboy dream though.

Both games look and feel great to play. They both smash the look of Blackops 4, PUBG, Fortnight etc. For graphics and sound they are really immersive. Probably 2 of the best on the market i feel. For 12 bucks though i'd just forfeit a large big mac meal or a night club over priced beer and have some fun.

    • I agree BF is a fan boys dream. Looks gorgeous and had lots of flashy lightsaber fights in multi. I was thinking it was what I dreamed Jedi Knight could be like back in 1996.

  • Fair warning guys, it's probably not a deal breaker for most and some may not have issue as my friend only had to change one thing in origin but for me. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get star wars bf2 to actually load without or crashing. Me and friend are both running almost identical setups too on win 10 pro, 16gbram, 6cores, gtx1080 so hardware isn't the issue. Anyways I just remember this frustrating the hell out of me so I want to give warning. The way i ended up getting it to work was somewhat strange. I have to run riva tuner statistics server and hard cap the fps at 165. Somehow that fixed it. You can imagine how many things I tried before I came to that solution lol.

    • That is strange… Ran without issue for me.
