One Night Free at Rydges World Square Sydney or Rydges North Sydney

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Rydges Hotels have a best rate guarantee, claiming the rate on their site is always the same if not cheapest than other website, or you get one night accommodation free.

Rydges World Square Sydney and Rydges North Sydney are having a 50% off second night promotion on Wotif.com. http://www.wotif.com/search/WotsOn?category=1283390&stlcmpid…

This rate is not available on Rydges.com.au. I am going to book 2 nights at Rydges World Square for my next trip on Rydges.com.au and submit a claim see how it goes. The rates are cancellable anyway! Will keep you guys posted.

Always remember to look at these so called Best Rate Guaranatee, there is no such thing! So don't be lazy to shop around and take advantage of it.

  • Think this belongs in the forums, unless you wanna post the 50% off deal on its own as a separate deal.

    • Yea, I was thinking should I post the 50% off then mention about the free night claim, but at the end I think the free night is more attractive

    • the title is misleading, you need to find other company that offer cheaper than ridge price which is not always available. so where is the free night? you might get if you lucky, you might not get it coz you can't find the cheaper price elsewhere.

  • I think for BRG, it normally need to be the exact same description and conditions. It won't work if another site is offering something different.

  • I guess you're braver than me, because I can see at least 2 ways that Rydges might say 'get nicked' - from the conditions:

    • it does not apply to "rates involving a prepaid voucher program" (whatever that means - maybe eg wotif where you prepay and get a voucher?);
    • Should the cheaper rate be the result of a third party reseller selling Rydges rooms at a loss, we are unable to extend the guarantee benefits.

    Enjoy your 2 nights at Rydges anyway…

    • yea, there is same grey area there. But Wotif is not in the voucher category. The voucher category is more like those you book on Jetstar Holiday where you have to present a voucher at check in. For Wotif, you don't have to bring anything at check-in.

      Anyway, the booking I made on Rydges.com.au is flexible, which means I can cancel up till the day of arrival without a charge, so if they decide not to honour their promise, i can still cancell at re-book on Woitf, so it's kinda risk free.

      I have used best rate guarantee a lot, especially with the Big chain as they tend to honour it easier without much hessle. I have done it to the Marriott in China, and they beat that rate by another 25%!

  • this is not a bargain mate. it is the same if you post flight centre promotion free flight if they can't price beat.

  • Credit for coming up with it. It's not really free though as this offer you need two nights, so still need to pay the full rate for the other night.

    Regarding the prepaid voucher point, I don't believe that's an issue as it's part of 'unpublished rates.' Rydges periodically offer vouchers which you prepay for accommodation in a certain period, but don't actually make a booking. You then make a booking later for whatever night you want. Thus, they can't really compare the price you paid when you bought the voucher to whatever the rate is at the time of booking - it may have gone up.
