$99 Birkenstock Sale + Delivery @ VeganWares Online

120

Vegan sandals, including Birkens (men's, women's) at Vegan Wares. Came across this sale on Facebook. It says "last day 16 June 2019), obviously past that date now.. So, I'm not sure when it is until, but better to grab some vegan sandals before they sell out. Last time I missed Cruelty-free Shop's sale in Sydney, so this is a good opportunity.
Peace ✌️

Does anyone know where i can get a good deal on a Subaru XV?

  • are these worth it for $99?…i mean you could prob buyer something for $10 from kmart or big w which looks stronger

They are manufactured in Portugal, so at least you know you aren't supporting the sweatshop conditions of a Chinese made Kmart alternative. Not sure about the conditions of manufacturing in Portugal though, but surely it would be better than Kmart. Also made from vegan materials so you have the peace of mind knowing that no animals needed to suffer for any materials in your shoe.

I have a pair, a few years old now. I wear them all summer, put them through salt water / mud / everything, and they are still in great condition. I think I paid $100 back then too. Good value IMO.

definitely worth the money, IMHO - last much longer than cheap knockoffs and are the best (def not the prettiest) option for your feet.
However I think you can find them cheaper on Amazon etc with a bit of luck.

    • It's a Birkenstock brand, so yeah.

  • How true do the sizes run? Do I need to try some on before I buy here?

    • I have the all rubber edition and since its straps are adjustable I just got 0.5 size down for myself. Would be a good idea to go try any Birkenstocks around your area before buying online I guess.

I will wear these to the food stall at the local organic farmer's market to eat a big juicy soy-based imitation MS9 wagyu beef burger with gluten free buns, and wash it down with sustainably-brewed artisan beer in a recycled jar

Cool, be sure to let us know how you go.

  • Aren't these available at Amazon for around $72 dollars?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Birkenstock-Unisex-Arizona-Brown-3…

    • Amazon one is not vegan friendly, as it has a suede based insole.

Meaning synthetic upper. Not natural based like kelp. So that upper won't biodegrade, but break down into micro-particles…

You may "save" an animal…but with the chemicals used to make the synthetic leather, and the non biodegradable product…will probably do more harm

    • Worse chemicals are used for leather tanning process (that affects workers too). Not to mention the whole environmental impact of getting to that stage of "leather". Try again.

      • There are environmentally friendlier ways to tan. Plenty of plant based tannins and methods can be used. Anything's better than micro-plastic particles. There are vegan alternatives using natural materials rather than synthetic uppers. However they haven't done this.

I’m a Freegan Vegan so if anyone is thinking of upgrading I’m happy for you to send your old pair my way.

    • I saw someone selling their second hand Birkenstock on Facebook. It had the toe imprints, like sweat spots 🤮 (not sure if you'll get the same on vegan version, since the base isn't suede) lol
