Philips 9000 Series Shaver 9211/26 $295 @ David Jones (C&C Only)

10

Hi All,
Good value for this shaver from David Jones, possibly because the description is incorrect (it's listed as a 911/26). It's actually the 9211/26 (have collected mine already) with the SmartClean station. DJ's are selling the 9211/12 (no base station) for $349, which makes this look great by comparison.

  • i find it rubbish as most times i'd have to use the clipper attachments first then the shaver to get a clean shave. Its more efficient for me to use traditional shavers.

  • +1

Have it and honestly don't know what to say, build quality compared to Brauns this is an absolute joke, joke. The trimmer attachment part is very prehistoric and poor, loud, has one blade that behaves slow and lazy, the other shaving part is nice BUT for example if you use it on smooth, tight wet skin it can skid, stop and detach the top/disk part from the bottom part that attaches to the body of the shaver. Have no idea how they didn't make a lock on the 2 parts so it doesn't happen. Battery life is great.

  • Fair calls. I've always had Philishaves and whilst I'm happy with the shave of this (and am used to rotaries rather than foils), I do agree that longevity is questionable, given the way everything clips together (blades clip off for cleaning, the whole head clips off to put trimmer on). My last Philips shaver lasted 14 years and the one before that 7 years, but this doesn't feel as bulletproof.

  • I don't have this specific model but I have used Philips shavers/body groomers in the past and the build quality has been rubbish.

Found Panasonic and VS Sassoon to be good quality.

  • I have the S9111/26 (and used Philishaves for years) and been very happy with it.

Their after sales service is great. I had a problem with the trimmer about 6 months ago and even though it was well out of warranty they sent me a replacement. In fact, in the process of troubleshooting they sent me a new shaver body as well.

    • Doesn't surprise me at all, if we compare make quality VS price, I'd give you 5 more for free coz I could afford to do it 😂.

  • I'm very happy with my Xiaomi rotating head razor. Hard to fault for $55.

    • I’ve the xiaomi too and just did an experiment - half with it and half with the Philips. The Philips side is definitely closer and less irritated…. but you’d hope so given it was 6x the price.

  • It's great with original blades, but replacement ones don't last as long. Previous version head setup was much better.
