Fridge, Washer and Dryer recommendations?

Hi all,

Moving into my new home in a months time with my 2 mates and really chuffed about it!!

I'll be needing to get a lot of things for the home but looking for some advice as this is all new to me.

Any recommendations for a fridge, washer and dryer? I'm willing to spend about $2k in total if possible.

I have no clue what to look for or where to start so any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ken

p.s. apologies if this is in the wrong section, first post.

If you are moving in with mates, perhaps let them bring those items? That is the true OZB way!

Old Timer story: When I first moved out my contribution to share houses was an old top down washing machine I got from family which was initially broken but I ended up fixing it with about $30 of parts (Top down machines - the ones with no electrics - are extremely easy to fix when you look it up) that thing lasted me about 12 years until it was cactus. Best whitegoods purchase (if you can call it that) I ever made!)

    • Haha they don't have these hence why I need to get them! My mate had a fridge but sold off, spewing!

      Solid work!

Seriously though, you should probably just buy a fridge, and they can buy a washer & dryer when they can afford it.

A fridge is key to a persons life, you can go to the laundry mat for the rest.

    get separate devices.

those all-in-one machines sound great but are terrible.

buy separate devices from gumtree/facebook market

    • Awesome, so worth looking into second hand ones?

    get separate devices.

Agreed, those Fridge, Washer and Dryer combos are horrid…. always washing and drying my beer when I just want it to do is keep it cold!

But OP, in all seriousness, get single units. Better in the long run.

    • Haha.

      Noted and thanks!

The range of options available is pretty massive. I suggest you head to a Good Guys or Harvey Norman and have them walk you through the range for each. It would be good to get an idea of the different features that higher price points get you. Then maybe let us know your region and people might recommend a good store like E&S Trading where you can negotiate a package deal.

    • Yeah was thinking Good Guys, few friends also suggested this.

      Whitehorse

  • Electrolux
