FREE Official Sydney / NSW transport apps for Android and Apple iOS

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just for reference, because not many people know about this:

The official NSW transport app is free on both Android and Apple iphone iOS, and provides real time bus info, trip planner and everything with a great interface. It is much better than the hacked paid apps available, I keep saying 'deals' on those apps. Don't bother.

Android: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mdv.NSWcompanion&f…

Apple iOS: http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/transport-info/id418891758?mt…

This is the genuine OFFICIAL app, seems like NSW transport outsourced development. No ads, completely free, fast, brilliant.

  • whats the difference between this one, link and tripview?

Try it :) It's free, no obligations, no ads. It's official, the rest are hacked together to pull data from 131500.

  • Since I missed out on Morgan's giveaway, I just went off searching myself LOL

TripView is pretty much CRAP. Cannot seem to use Trains and Buses in one trip!

I have the free version of Link Express, and have found it great - only real hassle is inability to save trips.

That Transport Info one didn't come up in searches for Sydney transport when I tried about a month ago, but it does show up now. Maybe they sorted out the search keywords better now?

  • Is it genuine from NSW Transport? It shows some strange software company developing it from another country.

I thought EXACTLY the same thing. But I think it is genuine.

      • yea, looks like genuine, till someone comes with a news

        • Of course its genuine, who else but NSW transport would commission an overseas company to develop something in competition with already produced products here.

Public servants can get the benefit of an OS trip on the State for a trip to Europe, rather than one to the burbs. Hey its public money there for the taking, the original Ozbargain.

And its Sydney the Jakarta like rort capital of Australia.

  • I wonder, Who deletes Mod Comments. Like Neil comments were removed above.

    • The mod mod.

      • Actually it was Neil himself. As he moved this to the forums, his comments were redundant. Being a fastidious mod, he cleans up after himself, not like other mods here…. ^^ ;-)
