Westpac AmEx Cards - bundles vs individual applications

Hi all,

I've noticed on the Westpac site it states you can apply for Amex separately if you currently hold a Westpac Altitude or Earth Rewards Card, they state "Sign into Online Banking and select ‘Offers’ in the Rewards & Offers section to see if you’re eligible"

My dilemma is this;

I technically don't qualify for the Blended bundle that includes the Amex Altitude Black card, and was thinking to apply for the Westpac Altitude Platinum card (mastercard) as i know i'll get it and then apply for the Amex later.

Can anyone with an existing Westpac Altitude card check their offers to see what comes up for Amex?

They're currently advertising that as an existing customer they'll wave the Amex Altitude Black fee but don't know if that's only for the bundle deal…

Has anyone done the individual card applications instead of the bundle? What was the outcome?

I've contacted Westpac a few times but they have no info or indicator to suggest whether or not i'd get approved for the bundle unless i do the full application and see what the computer says…

    In my 'Rewards & Offers' I have both the Platinum and Black AMEX cards available to apply for separately (10k v 20k QF points on sign up). Both of them have a $0 AF for the first year and reverts back to he normal ($49 v $199) afterwards.

    • Hmm so it would be a loss of 20,000 bonus points to apply separately. Good to know though!! Thanks

    • Can i ask what other product/s you have with them? I currently just have a bank account but maybe it's triggered by having a credit card?
