  • 166 pages ….. time for a career change if it only takes 166 pages to be a python coder …. time to quit my deliveroo job.

Me too, time to quit my python job and a career change to be deliveroo delivery person. I heard there was an opening.

  • Thanks OP

  • Wont be surprised when python coder has to start a 2nd job soon, everyone said they do python in the cv.

  • Can anyone that knows vouch for these as a starting point? Or are there already well known free resources?

    Thanks!

Another few copies to add to my collection which I'll hopefully be reading in the near future.
    Thanks OP!

  • Legend! Thanks OP!

  • The books look sketch so don't hold your breath on the quality. They all have a 5-star review by the same person on the same day except for one that has a 1-star review saying it has bad English.

I would just use popular online resources. At least you know they are decent and somewhat peer-reviewed.

  • Warning people off I went on the Machine Learning one and it is impossible to read even the look inside parts. The review from Heather & Guido warned me off

"Even for free this book is not worth your attention.

It's most likely a Chinese book ran through google translate, with a made up English sounding author name. They are all over amazon, sometimes even including a nice stock photo of the author.

You just have to open the 'look inside' feature and read any random sentence to see how poorly it's written. Here's an example:
"Amazingly, when Python is used to code, it gives a fast result on the goal""

And I liked the fact that the table of contents of the Machine learning one doesn't actually have any Machine learning in it
