Be aware! Fake stock level for Wireless 1

EDIT: Claming the item is "in stock" is fundamentally different from "the item is at the supplier". Dodgy sellers will try their best to mix the two concepts up to confuse consumers, while truly decent sellers (as is known to all, those largest ones) will note the stock level very clearly like "in stock", "low stock", "at supplier" and "out of stock". That is why I suggest people avoid sellers who don't do that to tempt people to pay first. That is detrimental to the entire market.

Not only do their sales reps do sockpupetting, they also fake the stock level at least on ebay.

They promised on their official website that if payment is made before 2pm, there will be the same day dispatch. Have to say that is absolutely not the truth.

Yesterday bought an rtx 2070 super from their ebay store, and the stock level said more than 10 available. But guess what?

They said today that they would ship it no sooner than Friday. And in the following message they confirmed that the item would get shipped even later until next week. And they finally admitted that the item is not really in stock although it says "10+ available" - the gfx cards are peacefully lying in the warehouse of suppliers, rather than in their store.

What a joke.

Avoid Wireless 1 guys, as being dishonest must pay.

    Jesus talk about an overreaction.

You didn't buy from their official website though you bought from their eBay. What's the estimated delivery date on it there? Quite openly states on their eBay listings there can be a few days handling before it's sent.

If you wanted it that quick why didn't you just buy off the official site where the make that promise?

What an outrage, do they expect people to game at 1080p and without RTX on?! Is this what the world is coming to? Its that the sound of the end of the world coming?

Those people at Wireless 1 have n00b blood on their hands, I dont understand how they sleep at night knowing their warehouse stock levels are incorrect.

yes wireless 1 guy needs to pay, with his life…

Welcome to OzB. First post and craps on a very reputable company. Sad really.

In case you need a reminder of the value Wireless 1 brings to this site…

Of course you'd point that out - you must be one of the sockpuppets mentioned by the OP

Just to put you at ease, no I'm not. Most on this site know who I work for and it's certainly not Wireless 1. And why wouldn't I point it out? Reputation is what businesses live & die by. If you believe I've said something untrue, call me out on it.

I wish there was some kind of delay in allowing new members to make forum posts. Similar as to how some subreddits don’t allow you to comment if your account is too new.

They promised on their official website that

    Official website.

Yesterday bought a rtx 2070 super from their ebay store

These are different channels. Why would you think one applies to the other when each has different payment and receipting processes?

I bought an iPad pro from them 2 weeks ago from their eBay store for a lot cheaper than the next cheapest price (1.05k vs 1.25 @ jb).

    Regarding to their delivery/supply/stock level:
Initially I read a post that they had no stock and this seemed the case as they didn't dispatch until 3 days. But after messaging them they reminded me of the ETA that was on the item's eBay page and how they are not late. In fact, they managed to deliver 1 day before the earliest ETA date (which was like 4 or 5 days).

Tldr; they keep to their eBay delivery ETA although they do not dispatch immediately, and that I was a bit spoilt expecting them to dispatch straight away.

  • I didn’t have delivery issues with Wireless1 however when it came to a warranty issue they didn’t bother to lift a finger to help. They put me through a heap of interrogative questions and finally said it was not their issue and I would have to refer to the manufacturer who put me through another round of tests and questions before sending out a replacement!! The item was a mini drive that plugs into an iphone that died a month after using it. You would have thought that a store as big as this would have just swapped it over like David Jones or Myer but no.

So beware if you have a problem their support may not be there.

    • You would have thought that a store as big as this would have just swapped it over like David Jones or Myer but no.

Wireless1 is nowhere near the size of Myer or DJs. They're also not going out of business like Myer or DJs.

      • I don’t know the turnover of Myer/DJ electronics however I would suggest Myer and DJ electronics departments are so small nowadays the turnover would be comparable to Wireless1.

I have purchased from other retailers on eBay and they have just done a direct swap and they are much smaller in feedback than wireless1.

Bricks and mortar retail has its place in the retail world but it is not carrying everything and anything like it used to be.

Not every person is comfortable with internet retail as the OP of this post has demonstrated.

Claming the item is "in stock" is fundamentally different from "the item is at the supplier".

Not really. I myself am a little spoiled because MWave have great inventory systems, but "in stock" just means "in stock", without regard to location. Anything else is you reading too much into it.

Retailers being able to keep their own stock levels down allows them to offer lower prices.

the item is not really in stock although it says "10+ available"

"10+ available" looks nothing like "in stock" to me, much less "in stock in-store".

Question that you haven't addressed anywhere:

Will the product arrive before its eBay ETA?

  • +3

OP it literally has a clearly defined Delivery: Estimated between date and date on every ebay item.

Right now that item says for me: Estimated between Wed. 7 Aug. and Fri. 9 Aug. Guessing it was 1 day less when you looked yesterday. Completely matches what they are saying. At least they are being honest about it!

This is on you for not reading before purchasing.

    • +2

Yes, but the problem is you are making sense. How can the OP maintain his outrage if he did that? I think we have all felt like the OP, on occasions; the secret is to write it in notepad, sleep on it, then delete it. This method has worked very well for me over the years at work. Gets the crap out of your system and stops you sending stuff you shouldn’t.

      • +1

That's a good method. Mine is going for a run. If I'm still angry, annoying by whatever, I just run longer until I'm not.

        • Yeah, the long walk/run; been there before. You can throw yourself the biggest pity party and get it out of your system.

We need a code word that means "I've read your post but it's not worth commenting on as it's another stupid post". This way maybe over time we'll be able to curb the trend.

    • bikies?

    • Down votes for forum posts and increased number of down votes we can give in one day.

      • I kinda agree except down votes for Forum posts are a little like emojis - everyone uses them differently to mean different things.

        • I would love to be able to neg this dumb post by the OP. I can down vote people’s comment in a post but not the OP it’s self.

I also wish you could have like a super neg similar too the super like in tinder but for I really hate this post/comment.
