Coles Little Shop Vs Woolworths Ooshies

Hearing on the radio that people are going mad for these things. $100k albeit failed purchase on eBay for one of these things.

Are these promotions influencing where you shop?

    Another vote for "don't care"

  • I'd rather shop at Aldi.

  • +3

I like anything I can sell to subsidise my shopping.

The public rubbish bins around my nearest Woolworths are overflowing with wrappers. There was Lion King face painting on the weekend. I think it was a big success after losing the first round to Coles.

Plastic rubbish that will be sent to the bin once the craze is over.

  • i was listening to Kyle and Jackie O on the way home last night, and Kyle swapped his rare Ooshie for a dinosaur egg and a Picasso print

Why would you subject yourself to that crap?

    No
I hate the things. Popular today, non-degrading plastic landfill by 2020

  • +1

Go where the specials are. The kids have to deal with what they get (if I even spend $30).

  • Little Shop is cute as hell, although the second lot lacks variety compared to the first. Ooshies are just ugly and sound stupid, I don't understand why anyone would want them, I'd rather buy a Yowie with every shop.

It blows my mind that such stupid things make headlines. Seriously people, is there nothing more interesting to talk about??

    • What would you like to talk about?

      • Discounted items.

As someone who works for one of the two, I absolutely hate these promotions. It is a tactic to get to spend more money and a lot dumb people dont realize that.

Oh and don't tell us how many kids you have. we don't care and we will only give you what you are entitled to.

    • I think it goes deeper than that. They target these towards kids because they know parents will have no choice (well they do but their kids drive them nuts to get them!).

Whatever happened to the death stare.

If I (when I was a kid) tried to tell my parents how or where to spend their money, I'd get that look that says, "that's a woopin'".

Of course, I'd press on and then protest the woopin'.

  • I shop at both Coles and Woolies (I get the half-price specials from each), so I've been getting both of them. I have kids.
I'd like the lion King ooshies way better if it was of the original cartoon movie! It's my favourite Disney movie. I don't care for the new lion king, but my young children think the ooshies are great and argue over who gets what.

I like some of the Coles little shop. I like the ones that are actually made from the hard plastic and can't be ripped up. This time round there's a coffee jar which is cute. My husband has an orange juice and Nutella jar on his keychain from the original promotion last year. The ones that are just cardboard are garbage. They don't last a day and the kids just end up breaking them. The orange juice and Nutella from last year were made from the hard plastic so they've actually lasted.

  • damn it, I got my cousin shop all the ones with bonus 1 ooshie. He spent $30 on the groceries, he got $60 back by selling 10 ooshies….

    • genius..
