Amazon Australia One Day Delivery now the norm for Prime Members??

Has anyone else noticed that since early July all prime eligible items are arriving within one day?

For some context I live in Townsville where express service has ALWAYS been a minimum of 2 days usually more.
I've had 18 orders delivered since the first of July (Don't Judge Me) all prime items of various sizes and values and every single one weather its been delivered by Australia Post or Toll IPEC have arrived the next day.
In one case I ordered some cleaning supplies at around 3am on a particularly boring night shift where it arrived 4pm that afternoon from Melbourne.
One or two items arriving quickly ok but every single one of mine has arrived the next day.
I'm not selecting priority shipping or anything just standard free shipping and even the estimate delivery dates are 3-5 days in the future.

Amazon Prime is moving to one day shipping in the us, Could they be testing it here in OZ??

Or am I just extraordinarily lucky?

    You’ve jinxed it mate, now it wont be one day anymore and you’ll start losing it because of bad drivers…

    Im in rural NSW, the 4 orders ive placed in july all took 3 days to arrive. All came from melbourne. I would order on the weekend it would arrive on Wednesday. A Thursday order would arrive on Monday.

    Almost always it would end up in sydney at the processing facility with auspost around 2am, on day 2 but wouldnt get sent out here till the next morning.

    Last 4 amazon deliveries i got were from fastway, they have been extremely slow once reaching australia.

    Your right I've Jinxed it now.
    Everything's gonna take 5 days, get lost, crushed during delivery haha
    Now I think about it even my overseas orders were delivered by DHL within 3/4 days.
    Way faster than expected.
    Normally overseas ones arrive via fastway and yes they are excruciatingly slow.

    Mine always go through DHL.

    Nothing but good things to say about DHL.

    not sure, but my last deliveries have all arrived before the due delivery date.

    My orders generally arrive in 2 days. I am in Tassie though so everything needs to come in overnight.

    Amazon seller here. They definitely speed up their dispatch turnaround time. Used to dispatch in 2 business days now just 1 days or even same day. If you live in metro Sydney or Melbourne then you would have good chance to receive it in 1 day.

    Yes, this is normal advancement of Amazon taking over. Same happened in UK. Started few days delivery then it was 3 days guarenteed then next day, then same day by 9PM and then finally get most items delivered within 1-2 hours of order in large cities. Same will happen here as they grow their intermodal logistics centres and their own delivery network without having to rely on third parties.

    Interesting. I do like next day delivery I'm just not used to it as everything has always taken 2-3 days minimum.
    Im hooked and now completely understand amazon prime's addictiveness.
    I never quite understood in the use Yeah just get it on amazon.
    I now understand haha

    When you are prime members, your default shipment is expedited, not standard. Any orders before 2pm weekday should be dispatched that day and you should get it the next business day, in most non rural areas.

    I'm in Sydney and mine are still taking 2 - 3 days so no, haven't noticed that.

    Amazon are hit and miss just like the rest of them. I've been waiting for a prime order to ship since July 15.

    Always been next business day for me. I ordered something yesterday and it had a guaranteed delivery date for monday.
