have you had any problems with these knives… i was almost tempted to get a set myself but after reviews online, Im not too sure anymore
they seem to randomly snap or break…. making it very dangerous and expensive to replace the knife
I'm surprised to hear that, I've had them for years and they are still really good. I've had to sharpen them of course. The steel is strong, so I can't imagine how they could possibly snap or break….unless somebody was using them to do things they weren't designed for.
After reading your comment, I did a search and have noticed that a few people have indeed mentioned that they snap (http://www.productreview.com.au/p/global-knives-ikasu-knife-…). I'm afraid I don't have an answer for that.

Cutleryandmore.com may have other sets at better/as good prices, but the globals are pricier over there it seems (didn't compare exact knife blocks).
