Solar PV System in WA Perth Metro

Looking to install solar panels on the property in the foothills, doesn't seem to have lots of discussions on solar panels in here, found only 2, 1 for VIC, 1 for SA.
I have got 2 quotes so far, 1 from Infinite Energy, 1 from Sunboost, for 3.3kW.
Sunboost advise that they were on the morning show on TV, lots of customers used them, reliable…
Sunboost quote also much lower than Infinite: $2,291 vs $3,300.
Sunboost uses Seraphim panels and Solis inverter.
Infinite uses Canadian Solar panels and SMA inverter.
I found online Seraphim panels are slightly more expensive than Canadian panels, so not sure why Sunboost can still quote for cheaper, although it did mention there's a promotion going on atm.

Just wondering if anyone here can advise if 3.3kW is about right for the current usage or too much?
There is a pensioner in the property who bought a big fridge (family size) for herself, have the radio on all the time if she's there.
There will be another lady moving in soon who advise she does have the heater on all night, and she will also then be using the small fridge I have there.
I'd like to think they would usually use the washing machine in the daytime.
I guess the fridge is the biggest user of power there. Water and cooking are all using gas.

Is the Sunboost price reasonable? Should I get a 3rd quote?
Anyone had any experience with Sunboost and happy to share your experience?
Or any good or bad experience with solar panels?
Anything else I should need to find out before deciding?
Any meaningful experiences/advice shared will be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • I used a company called solar2020 and got a fronius 3.5kw system some time ago. It was a lot more expensive back then but they might be cheaper now.

I also got a fronius smart meter installed so I can see how much I am using as well as how much I am generating. Without the smart meter (this is separate from one the one western power will want to install) you can only see what you are generating. Being able to see what I am using enables me to turn the climate control up and down to make the most use of the generated power.

The solar won't help with the heater on at night at all unless you get a battery.

  • We used Infinite at our office. Can't remember the panels, but they installed 2 Fronius inverters (30kW) and an energy monitor. Company was good to deal with and install was very good.
