½ Price Decor Refillable Oil Sprayer $6 (Was $12) @ Woolworths

641

This ever popular deal is on sale again. My go to sprayer for the last six months. Interestingly I think it's similar to the "atomiser" bottle featured in the KOH cleaning site so bought a second sprayer to try mixing my own cleaning solution and try it out.

Picked up one of these a while back…….it's bloody terrible. Rather than spray, it shoots a jet of oil and leaks everywhere.

      Return it, mines good.

Worked great for me for the past 6 months

Picked mine last pormo .. it's pretty good .. does a horizontally dispersed jet but no leaks

    • +1

Definitely return it for a refund or exchange, it's meant to spray an even mist of oil.

I found the same but all was solve when I switched to a thinner oil (light olive oil instead of extra virgin). Doesn't spray well with thicker liquids. My 2c

Doesn't spray well with thicker liquids

        Thanks for the warning.
        I only use Extra Virgin…

        • +2

Better throw out my extra slutty olive oil then.

      • 'Light' olive oil is only referring to the colour.

    • try adjusting the nozel, i rotated it for different direction for spray.

To spray properly you have to squeeze the trigger fast. If you are already doing that take it back

  • It's exactly the same as the Koh item - I have both.

Funnily enough I find it works better for water based liquids, rather than oil.

  • I find they look the same but don't function the same as the Koh / Ecoworks ones.

The Koh ones use the trigger to compress and then the spray comes out over the next little while - whereas these ones are more 'direct' pull the trigger and it sprays. Maybe mine's broken?

    • No mine is like yours

  • This is pretty bad. As Above it doesn't work well for thicker fluids (i.e Olive oil) which is the only thing I use. YMMV

which is the only thing I use. YMMV

          • @jv: Dad's been down at the store getting smokes for months now and mum cries a lot. Anyone else who might be able to help?

I use mine exclusively for olive oil and I absolutely love it. Works perfectly. So glad I bought one as I use it heaps.

I'm using it with rice bran oil. It sprays like a horizontal jet, but it's okay.

  • Is this product available in limited stores? I just can’t seem to find it anywhere nearby me - postcode 3190

    • Don't know if it's a good idea to mention your postcode but limited outlets I believe (not for me either) sorry

  • +1

Great product. I’ve beeb using it for months.

  • works great for olive oil for me, maybe i got lucky??

  • Can't say enough good things about it. Was extremely surprised, tbh.
Beats using those garbage aerosol cans.

    • They even made my nonstick pans garbage!

The only thing i dont quite get about mine is there appears to be a plastic bag liner inside the vessel, i guess this is so the bottle doesnt collapse after many sprays, buy I dont see why it can't just work like any other spray bottle? When you go to fill it the bag doesnt spread out completely which is annoying.

I use two wooden chopsticks to expand the bladder again prior to refill. If I don't do this the refill volume is half what it should be.

      • I'm too lazy to wash chopsticks every time

    • +3

I use centrifugal force. Take that bottle for a spin to spread the bag ;)
Or just give it a blow… but not the most hygienic option.

    • +1

I've cut the tiniest hole with the tip of a sharp knife right up the top and it released the vacuum making it easier to fill the expanded bag

    • I just blow mine, gives a great olive oil lipstick effect

    • +1

      Mine spreads easily 90%+.

      Refill

Stage 1: weight of oil spreads ~70%
Stage 2: gentle massage spreads ~20%+

These are great to take camping!

  • Just browsing also found something with a pressure system from Amazon US

Misto Brushed Aluminum Olive Oil Sprayer https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00004SPZV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i…

    • Seems good, pity it's not free shipping.

Works fine for me, using rice bran oil. Only two minor comments - need to spray close to pan otherwise the mist goes everywhere, and the inner bag is a pain as it reduces capacity (although doesn't really matter as it doesn't use much oil anyhow).

Checked in North Melbourne store. It's showing 12 AUD…

    • Assuming you mean on the shelf, that's just because they haven't updated the shelf price. Happens frequently at my local. It's never scanned wrong though. Just grab one and check at the self checkout….

    • +1

On my local Woolies (2072), shelf price was $12, scanned at $12.

      :(

  • +1

    $12 online
    $12 at checkout
    Not in the catalogue

Didn't bother asking the woolies guy, no evidence it's on sale
