Opinion: How Do You Style Your Hair? Ie. Wax, Dryer, Gel?

Hi guys,
I’ve been using dominate wax for several years now but I think I’m starting to loose my hairs where I apply the most amount.

What do you guys do to style your hair when you do style your hair. I know some people don’t need to style their hair as it may be just perfect.

Are there any organic products or any less harmful products?

  • Your hair is thinning at a greater rate than when you were younger. It is sad but some people find bald mean to look mature in a sexy daddy kind of way.

I just get a number 5 haircut, number 2 on the sides. Run a towel through it. Done. No need to wax or anything.

  • watch the movie "there is something about Mary"

There is something about Mary lmao - were you not sure how to contract 'there's'?

Weren't you sure how to contract 'were you not? '

I see the almost-irony here, but using contractions isn't a must - whereas, when quoting a movie title, one must always use the same punctuation and spelling as the actual title.

            one must always

            Yes lord, username checks out.

  • DIY 0.5 all over every couple of weeks.

I don't have time to be maintaining a hair style and there is nothing better than a freshly shaved head of hair.

Plus, I save money on haircuts and wax/gel.

Hate to say but the wax probably isn't causing your hair to fall out (unless it's particularly toxic), you are just going bald.

I use a thing called My Own Oil. It's OK, but sometimes a bit of help from Tap Water is required to "style" it.

  • I don't do my hair and people are used to it.

When I was younger and did it daily, one the days I was in a rush and didn't do it. Everyone would bring up that my hair wasn't done. After that I decided to never do it (and only do it when going out, formal events, etc.) people just got used to my hair not being done and it rarely gets brought up.

FYI: I have a thick, luscious head of hair and looks ok without product after wearing a hat for a bit to settle it in a decent look lol

Was waiting for the first comment.

Wasn't going to add that last part initially, but pretty bored at work today and thought I'd get a few laughs from the OzB comedians

I've used wax for the past 10 years, recently got onto pomade. Keep in mind that different products work for different hair types so try different products to see what works for you. And don't buy replica hair products (lots of fakes/made in China)

  • Water, hands … comb if I need to look a bit more respectable.

  • Just adopt the 'just woken up' look. The rest is all about attitude.

  • Shave my head. Save money on any need for wax, comb, hairspray. True OzB style

  • your genetics are causing you to lose hair, not the products

  • Wax

isn't it lose? I've been reading so many people use 'loose' instead of 'lose' that I'm thinking that I'm wrong now. anyways, shitty wax found in coles / woolies are pretty bad for both style and health of your hair. never apply on scalp or roots.

    • You're correct.

  • Blow dry hair in the style you prefer, use products which are not as strong hold. These are generally more natural look and keep hair looking fuller.

You could try hairspray, there is POWDER which is awesome for styling but I find it expensive and annoying to wash out daily.
