MSI Infinite X Plus 9SF Gaming Desktop

https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Branded-Systems/Gaming-S…

I have an opportunity to buy this for $3,700 brand new.
When I googled the parts.. it’s not give or take not even $3,400 all up. Am I missing something here other than branding?

Is this thing even good?

Any help would be appreciated!

  • It's a gaming desktop by MSI with their branding on it, you are not paying just for the parts and labour but also the post-sales support and tech support by MSI

    It's not the desktop you are looking for if you want the maximum performance for the dollar, that's mostly those willing to pay extra for the aesthetics and tech support.

    Problem is that for 5.8 grand I'd expect hard tubing for the water cooling, plus the GPU isn't even watercooled…

  • If you are competent in building one yourself, usually you are competent enough to take care of it and process Warranty Claims. So in such a scenario, I would advise against Pre-built PC's… since you're likely to get something better and cheaper.

  • Always pay extra for branding + assembly + after sales support

  • Yeah, I thought so. Maybe there was something I was missing;

    Thanks for the reply everyone! :)

  • Honestly the biggest concern I have isn't the price. If you get it at $3700 it's in theory not a horrible mark up on the price of the components given the after sales support and warranty etc. The main concern I have with it is using a 550W Bronze PSU in a system with a 9900k, 2080ti and multiple nvme drives. Just putting in the approximate parts and you're looking at close to 500W draw without overclocking the 9900k and I would be really concerned about the PSU being able to hold up under any kind of stress.

    • So true mate!
      Thanks for this info. <3
